itchen_dan Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 Thinking of moving from T-Mobile PAYG to GiffGaff. Anyone had experience with them? Any good? The prices look fantastic so interested to see if it would be worth it
egg Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 Brilliant mate. Great signal and fantastic value. Online support so much better than an idiot in a call centre. No problems with them at all.
petermcpete Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Same as above, cheap, good signal and good support, can't really ask for any more than that!

hypochondriac Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 It's fantastic. I moved from T-mobil after being with them for five years. Best decision I have ever made and will be paying for future smartphones up front.

hypochondriac Posted 2 June, 2011 Share Posted 2 June, 2011 Is the "unlimited" data literally unlimited? the last time I checked they are thinking of putting a limit on it for people who literally just totally abuse the system. For normal people I think it is virtually impossible to go past the amount.
egg Posted 2 June, 2011 Share Posted 2 June, 2011 My missus abuses her data allowance like you wouldn't believe and has never had a problem. Get on the giff gaff support forum on their site or facebook page and see what others are saying.

Colinjb Posted 3 June, 2011 Share Posted 3 June, 2011 Looks brilliant, all I need now is a cheap smartphone. If these offers are still going a year from now there is no way i'm getting a new handset, just get a sim for my iPhone once the contract expires. sotonjoe Posted 3 June, 2011 Share Posted 3 June, 2011 That's the problem with plans that are literally unltd; there are always a minority of people who abuse it. That's alright until it becomes so many people that they start impeding the speed of the network for everybody else. I'm all for having data capped at sensible limits. I get 3gb on T-Mobile and that's plenty.
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 3 June, 2011 Share Posted 3 June, 2011 They send a monthly comparison email to say what you would have paid with other operators, i buy a £10 goody bag a month and all other operators in the list would have charged me £50+ for the same calls and data, too good to be true at the moment, keep expecting it all to come crashing down. egg Posted 28 June, 2011 Share Posted 28 June, 2011 allways buy the £20 or £25 goody bag Strange, they're only on the ten pound one. Sounds like they can expect a text. What are they replacing the unlimited web with?
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 28 June, 2011 Share Posted 28 June, 2011 This reminds me a bit of the games played by Stagecoach buses. Bring people on board with cheap prices and as soon as they have suckered you in then wham - up go the prices. When they started it was unlimited calls on the £30 a month deal. Now it's limited. Then the Data is limited; don't be surprised if the number of texts available per month goes down to 500.

GiffGaffs's data will remain UNLIMITED on the goodybags. It's the FREE internet that they've been giving to everyone that is ceasing on 3rd July. This was always to be a special time-limited freebie to introduce people to the benefits of a truly unlimited data plan and has been extended a few times already. If anyone moans that they're ceasing the ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY FREE AND UNLIMITED DATA TEMPORARY OFFER ON A PAYG SIM then they're an idiot.
