Acronyms and TXT advice

Why does this person need to learn acronyms to text? If you'll forgive me, hamster, I think it sounds like a bloody stupid idea. The person shoudl just be allowed to text in a language that is comfortable to them, rather than imposing a new idiolect upon them. Texting isn't meant to be something daunting that you can only do if you fit the linguistic criteria. It s for everyone to do how they want to.

i have a few Teens on my Facebook (family members etc) and i have noticed that a few of them not only SHORTEN words but also LENGTHEN them too!!!:? ....what the f... is that all about????? ?

one girl in particular lengthens nearly every word with an extra letter ot two i.e 'goood' or haavingg'......its extremely annoying!

At the risk of sounding bloody old, I just don't 'get' the younger generation!!!
