MatthewStiles Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 Xavi spoke in glowing terms of MLT and that is enough for me. I'm with you on this, Xavi is a class player with great taste and of course Messi is a force of wonder.
martel Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 Yep, and to think, we are about to be modelled on them. Thats right, excited by that prospect, on another note, the American commentator over here reffered to the GUARDSMEN who carried out the trophy at the start as BEEFEATERS, I strongly suggest he does a bit more research before he drops another clanger like that. (not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Well a deserved victory and I can't recall a single dive from the Barca players all night... although Pedro did go down like he'd had a ball smacked into his face..... when he had a ball smacked into his face. I think it demonstrates that the deplorable diving in the semi's was borne out of referees letting Real 'steam' into them in previous games and therefore trying to balance the odds, not excusing it but it does add context. For me Barca are the best team I've ever seen play, and they must surely have a claim to be the greatest club side ever. Also LOL at watching Manure get COMPREHENSIVELY outplayed for the better part of 90 minutes... how does it feel eh? Well?
redkeith Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Barca are fantastic, maybe an equal to the great AC Milan sides of the 80's and 90's. But could the have coped with Branfoots' Bruisers ?? Imagine Terry Hurlock steaming into Xavi, while Steve Wood hoofs the ball up front to Moody and Dowie ....... ..... Saints down to 9 men after half an hour, 15 nil to Barca. I do hope that the poster on here that don't like Barca because they don't move the ball forward quickly were being ironic. Xavi reminded me so much of Alan Ball when I was a nipper. outstanding. Victor Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 I did want Man U to win because they do have a few English players but it was fantastic watching them get ripped apart. They didn't even get close and it's good that they get to know their place in the food chain. The manner of the defeat did rather confirm the depressing fact that English people are not very good at football though. Using the example of an American club managed by a Scot that happens to play in the Premiership and has 3 English players as proof that the English "are not very good at football" only shows that you are not very good at arguing a case. Proof is winning f*ck all for about half a century. Watching Barcelona destroy our best club side just reminded me what real talent is and how limited English players are. dune Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 So pleased Man Utd lost and saved the boredom of having to listen to plastic mancs talking about it.

Check out how many English clubs have won it in the last half century. Just how old are you?
