You're going to Gibraltar for a WEEK?

Perhaps you should have asked for advice prior to deciding where to go let alone about the accomodation web site.

Little known fact. The Chief Minister's wife & kids used to live next to me in my first house with my ex wife.

They preferred an 19th century Terraced House on a main road in Salisbury with no parking & p*ssheads staggering home every night to the CM's offical residence in Gib.

Not that I am knocking Gib, just a little known fact

It's a bit late now really as i've booked a week in a hotel in Gibraltar (the best hotel as it goes :smug: ), but am slightly concerned about the website I used to book the hotel.

Count yourself lucky Jamie, I spent many a long run ashore in Gib'.

Great p i s s up but a dog hole since they opened the border.

The best thing was the services families olympic sized outdoor pool thingy.

Each to his own, but I think it's a relaxing place. Booked into the Elliot, do you know it?

I would just love it if the standing naval task group pulled in whilst you are there...

looking at about 1500+ sailors and marines....

cant remember the elliot.. everytime I have been there I have stayed at the calita palace or the bristol

and of course, devils tower camp

Looked at the Bristol but the reviews are terrible. I wanted to stay at the Rock but it was booked up, the O'callaghan Elliot has better reviews on Trip Advisor so chose that.

I hope there isn't 1500 matelots in when i'm there.

I'm sure there won't be.

I was part of an enormous task group in 2008 and we pulled into GOA. Way over 2000 of us. Closer to 2500 people in a multiple national battle group and all out on the pop in the bogmalo beach area. It was like the gaza strip in the mornings and felt very sorry for the holiday makers who spent alot of cash to be there.

Los Lagos is sort of a hotel located between La Linea and Algeciaras. If you take a cab in the Gibraltar border or Algeciaras, it would cost you no more than 10 to 20 euros. From Algeciaras, it takes no more than 10 minutes to get there or from La Linea or Gibraltar it is no more than 15 minutes.

It's cheap and secure. When you enter in Los Lagos brothel, head first to the bar – drinks surrounds 4 Euros – and then pick your chick or more than one among 20 to 30 girls wearing skimpy clothes. Prices are from 75 euros for 1/2 an hour to 140 for an hour which includes blowjob and/or foot job. That place also provides the room which is Ok.

If they are trying to get your business, we'll guarantee you that picking up the one that tries harder will give your cock an excellent BBBJ service.

You've been about a bit Dog. Is there no knocking shop in Europe you haven't frequented?

Joking aside Gib was/is an absolute sh*thole. Better off going somewhere nice like Seville.

Spending 10 days in San Pedro Alcantara (friends have a new Villa) after. Seville has been recomeded to me. Maybe another time.

Ahhhhh Gibraltar - my company asked me to go there a couple of years ago on business, never been before, so was really looking forward to it. Was recommended a hotel by a 'friend/work colleague', took one look at the feedback it was getting and sort of changed my mind. This is recent and was typically what people were saying a couple of year ago:

"Gibraltar as a whole has a fatigued, dated ambiance. It feels like its slightly apologetic for its existence -- and for the grimly commercial Main Street, which could be Shopping Mall Anytown. The Bristol Hotel exemplifies everything that has been left to go to seed in Gib. The room styles are 1950s Margate, the beds hard and lumpy and tobacco smells linger. And the breakfasts -- even a 1950s seaside landlady would be ashamed. Sliced white bread, processed cheese, processed ham, instant coffee, reconstituted orange juice, stodgy rolls, cold hard boiled eggs, cheapo packaged jam, marmalade and butter. And the service -- perfunctory at best, downright rude at worst."

And there's more....

"Gibraltar in general is not a place I would ever visit again. For an island it seems singularly lacking in sea. It is virtually invisible from any part of the main town. There are no pretty areas to sit in - even the Botanic gardens are disappointing. The traffic is horrendous. You may as well book a room in the middle of Brands Hatch on race day. It just goes on and on day and night. Noisy, smelly and dirty. Everything apart from booze and cigarettes is far more expensive than the uk. Over £10 for a very indifferent omelette and a cup of instant coffee. Benidorm would seem like the height of luxury compared to this. Take my tip - stay at home and save your money. I wish I had!"

Suffice to say, I made my excuses and got the company to send somebody else...! Not one that I will be trying to experience anytime soon either.

Well I like it. Maybe it's because I have Imperialist ideologies but I like everything about the place because it's a little piece of the UK abroad. And the people are brilliant - they are more British than the British.
