Lighthouse Posted 26 May, 2011 Share Posted 26 May, 2011 As it says on the tin. How often do you 'upgrade'? Mine is just over 2 years old but the screne is on the blink. Part of me thinks I'd be as well getting a new one rather than sending off to get it repaired (pretty sure it's out of warranty). The other part thinks that's a bit too soon and the stuff on the market isn't all that much better than what I've got now.
HK_Phoey Posted 26 May, 2011 Share Posted 26 May, 2011 My Mac Book Pro has just blown up after 3 1/2 years, is going to cost 50% of the price of a new one to fix, so thinking may as well get a new one.
toofarnorth Posted 26 May, 2011 Share Posted 26 May, 2011 Had my last one for four years (but had it repaaired twice) and now had the new one for a little over 18 months. Starting to notice it getting slower and the click pad sticks on occasions. Dont think it'll be four years this time, but paid half the price of the first one. Can get a laptop that does everything I need for around £400.
thesaint sfc Posted 26 May, 2011 Share Posted 26 May, 2011 I get through about 3 a year. I work in the trade though and tend to replace it when I see a stonking deal. I've got an Asus UL30a at the moment which is going to be hard to replace as it has an 8 hour battery life which I absolutely love! I've just bought one of these - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dell-vostro-3550-i5-2410m-2-3ghz-4gb-500gb-hdd-radeon-hd-6630m-1gb-w7-pro-316-80/945979/?page=7#post11357489 - not sure whether to sell or keep! Lighthouse Posted 10 June, 2011 Author Share Posted 10 June, 2011 What are the best laptop processors around? Use mine for a reasonable amount of multi-tasking, although nothing extreme and gaming.
