Barack Obama is Irish? Oh ****ing hell, what next!

Apparently Obama has just met a long lost relative in a small Irish town. Feks sake. So he is Kenyan and Irish. Stinks of re-election time needing those American Irish votes. Couldn't make it up. Maybe those 'birthers' are right after all. Perhaps he really isn't a yank.

It seems as if everyone in America is either of Irish or Italian heritage, almost fashionably so.

What's wrong with the Swedes, Germans, Dutch and Brits, eh!!?

In fairness, his great-great-great grandfather was Irish.

exactly! Says it all! Talk about grubbing around for the Irish vote. Would be like Cameron saying his great-great-great grandfather was poor to try and shore up the working class vote.

He was visiting Ireland though... why not do it? I am sure one bonus is the Irish vote, but it isn't as disgusting as some people on this thread want to make out.

The reason he was visiting Ireland was to secure the Irish vote. Not much wrong with it IMO and for many thick Americans that will be probably be enough to win votes. I like Obama but if someone votes for him because of his then they are really dumb.

I agree with this.

Didn't George Bush, that well documented Democrat (Dune), try and claim he was a descendant of an irishman from the 12th century? Trying to win Irish-American votes is nothing new, and is certainly not confined to the Democrats.

Half. Yes, probably.

At least the Pres can take a drink without choking on it.

And a little more classy than standing on an aircraft carrier in combat gear grinning like a ****ing simpleton.

And then there's this...

He's one cool mother ****er!

It would work here with all those nationalities except English. Everyone loves to claim European heritage as long as it's not English. (Direct Mayflower descendants excepted)

When they bleat on about winning in 1776 tell them they didn't win. It was the English against the English therefore the English won.

He's very charismatic, isn't he? I wish our politicians could so easily get down and dirty with 'ordinary' people. It's effortless with him - it's so contrived with ours.

You are joking? He's not a patch on David Cameron when it comes to having the aura of a leader. Thank god we got rid of the grinning one eyed clown...

...and now have a Prime Minister to make us proud on the international stage.

thats a funny way to talk about the real leader of our country, what america says we have to do .

Under the Labour party YES, under the Conservative party we have the Imperialist 1992 commitee that think like me. They have a lot influence and once we get rid of the yellow bastards (to coin one of their phrases) things will be even better.

Dune, are you ****ing kidding me? Politics aside... Cameron has nothing on Obama's natural appeal. I can't quite put my finger on it, but Obama has something, an aura to use your words that Cameron just doesn't have. Cameron isn't cool. Not that it really matters, but its true.

Cameron is also not a touch on Blair in this department.

Obama is a ****ing tool. I agree that David Cameron isn't cool, but I don't want a leader that's cool. I want a leader to make me proud to be British on the international stage and David Cameron carries himself well on the world stage and has a superior aura about him as British Prime Minister should.

Cameron beats Blair hands down.

In your opinion, Obama is a tool. That matters not to what I was talking about. You claimed Cameron had a better 'aura of a leader', most people would simply not say this is true. Perhaps you think Cameron's politics is better, that's your call... but what I said was right.

How typical for an eliteist Liberal/superior Socialist to speak on behalf of the 'majority' with his own opinion. It's people like you that epitimise the big brother control freak nature of the beast that is the left wing. Give me the freedom of the Conservative party from the lecturing frumpiness of the Socialists everytime.

I'm sorry... but what?! That sounds a lot like you...

You can think what you like about his politics, but even Cameron would admit that Obama has a natural pizazz that he could only dream of. That is generally accepted fact. The rest of your sentence is frankly bull****.

Well, I suppose Paddy O'Bama proved his ancestory today.

We had a real LMFAO moment over dinner watching Sky News when they showed the picture of the Book of Rememberance at Westminster Abbey.

Ole Paddy wrote some kind words, and signed it and then dated it

24th May 2008

Quality.

The leader of the free world doesn't even know what fecking YEAR it is

Dune has a point, the liberal elitists both on here and generally do have a major superiority complex. You've only got to look at the way you all gang up to tag team him on here with all sorts of accusations ranging from ROFL and quite brilliant play on user name wit of the "June" jibes from BTF to the accusations of being a Nazi because he happens to agree with some of the EDL policies. No middle ground and acceptance that they can see his point from them, oh no. Ironic really when freedom of speech and acceptance of others is what they purport to believe in and what their superiority complex is based on.

Dune just said he wants a British PM to carry himself with a superior aura, in that case us lefties would be ideal then?

All PM's should carry themselves with this aura, they carry the hopes and future of a nation on their shoulders, i am no big fan of Cameron but i want my elected leader to at least believe he is capable of doing it, not a jibbering imbicle like Brown.
