Sorry if this has allready been posted but it seems that by looking on the PFA transfer list Anthony Pulis is on it. The list is all the players who have been released from teams in England.

Just search for 'Pulis' in the search criterea on the right http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list

A few people assumed this was the case what with him having no profile on either ours or Barnet's OS.

It is a relief not to have his name popping up next season, repeatedly next to epithets such as useless, pathetic, etc. Whilst possibly one of the luckiest footballers alive, I'm also feeling a bit sorry for him because the last few years have constantly pointed out to him that he's not up to the job. Must feel like sh*t. If this is the end of his pro career, which seems highly likely, I wonder what the future holds for him.

Wow what a horrible list of shattered dreams and ruined careers that list is. It must be about time to start thinking about getting a real job when the likes of Hereford utd tell you your not good enough.

On to young Pulis surely this news is worthy of a piece on the O/S?

Surely this would need some form of Jordan Sibley 'big news' Twitter teaser first before releasing such monumental news???

Don't. He could always do like the rest of us and change jobs or careers. I just hope he's been saving his money so that he can retrain or start a business.

Maybe he could get a job, like the rest of us who are too sh*t to make a career in professional football?

Yeah. What about me? I was really going to make it as a pro footballer. All I lacked was the speed, skill, talent, or a father who was a manager.

Still hoping to make it as a rock god though ... only a matter of time ;)

The last few dregs that remind us of the bad old days slip slowly into the sunset.

Still, he gave us some laughs, hell even a memorable moment being one of the few to see play for Saints at SMS.

The days of signing players to be squad cover for our reserve team have now long gone.

Until Les Reed & his team find us another dud of course. It's football. it happens

He'll end up at some non-league outfit and score a screamer against us in the FA Cup 3rd round next season no doubt

He must have set aome sort of record

...the only Saints player to have a 3 year contract..or was it 4 ? ..and never featured in a league game for us.

That site is no good. Tommy Fourpast is not on there.

I've checked all the 'F' listings but I can't find Forecast...can this list be trusted?

In one of the best bits of transfer business there can ever have been, Tommy Forecast was signed on a five-year contract - at least I'm pretty sure that was the case. It's not mentioned in his slot on the OS, and I can't be arsed to trawl the archives right now, but five years is the duration that sticks in my mind. So that'll be another two years of lower-league loans and (very) occasional bench-warming for Tommy then...

The worst think about the Tommy Forecast deal, is not that he was given a 5 year contract, it is that he is part of what Saints got for cashing in on the Gareth Bale clauses early. I could put up the 5 year deal if Saints still had a sell on clause for Bale, sadly they don't anymore.

Can we stop going on about him now?

**** no he is a club legend right up there alongside Le tiss, Ball and Channon. In years to come there will be threads about how come NC hasn't invited Pulis to club functions and anniversary celebrations. No matter what Pulis will live long in the memories of saints fans for generations to come...........

..........As the longest serving player never to get a first team game, until Forecast overtakes him anyway.

That is a depressing web site. I've got mixed feelings for Pulis, on one hand he's the 'professional' footballer who was voted lincoln's, LINCOLN's second worst loan signing ever by their fans. His previous club list is an embarassing list of loans and clubs his dad had moved too, providing strong evidence towards the theory that this was an avenue to allow his son to continue his fantasy of being a pro footballer. Add to this to the fact that he is currently 26 and seems to occasionally get a game with our 'under 21' squad. But on the other, he is employed full time in a role not considered hard graft by many, currently based in the forest setting of marchwood, who must have been on around £500-1000 a week since the age of 19. If he was wise, he'd have been saving every penny for the moment he was awoken from his dream and his career is prematurely cut by a lack of contract offers. I'd like to know his opinion on his career.

On a side note, Jeremie Aliadiere is on that list. Was a promising Arsenal youth player. Seems he didnt fullfill his potential. Shame.

Pullis Jr: Dad, I need some help.

Pulis Sr: What's that son?

Pulis Jr: Saints released me, and no-one else is stupid enough to take me on.

Pulis Sr: Wow that's a bugger isn't it.

Pulis Jr: Yep. Soooooooo, I was wondering, any chance of a contract at Stoke?

Pulis Sr: Mmmmmmmmwahahahahaha...

(7 hours later)

...hahahahaha! Erm no. But Maccy D's are recruiting...

Standouts are Bradley Johnson (would be a great signing, but unlikely) and Neil Kilkenny. Patrick Kisnorbo (not sure on fitness these days) but a big solid lump at the back, Ivan Sproule (bit of pace of the bench).

Actually Sproule is a fair shout as well.

I've just got around to looking at that site properly. All it says is that Pulis is available for free transfer.

Isn't he still under contract until the 30th June? Being available for free transfer now presumably indicates that he's not officially released yet as his contract has a few weeks to run, but also that it won't be renewed. Mind you, I think everyone on here had already guessed that last bit!

He's the only current Saints squad member, the only thing it really indicates is that the OS forgot to run a minor piece a few weeks back to say we'd placed someone on the Transfer List, probably because they'd forgotten he was even around.

It's patently obvious he won't be getting a new deal, but somehow gives me a warm feeling inside to know he's SO bad he gets special free transfer treatment.

Puncheon's not the next one on the list, even though there's a category for players available to be loaned... I guess as he's on loan he doesn't qualify.

Quite a few ex-Saints on there, not shocked to see Stephen O'Halloran on the Free Transfer list, or Alan Bennett, or Pedro "Pele" Monteiro... or Darren Powell, who is now 35.

Also Jake Thompson released by Exeter. He was one of our wingers when the Dutch Boys were in charge.

I'm a little surprised by that, I know a number of posters on here were disappointed we let him go

Jake should be able to find another club, I'd be shocked if he slipped into non-league

A real shame. Was a promising youngster. My recollection is that he never really recovered from a bad injury? Thought he had re-built his career at Exeter, but if they are now releasing him that has to be the kiss of death for his career I'm afraid.
