Saint Keith Posted 16 May, 2011 Posted 16 May, 2011 i needed to disable my wireless on my laptop for a few minutes, so went to the wireless icon, clicked disable. however, when i click enablke to switch it back on, it wont work, says conenction failed. tried going into properties etc but its still not working. tried re-booting but it still wont enable HELP! its a fairly old (2005) inspiron 2200, the built in wireless adapter, dell intel pro set or something like that

Does a program handle the wireless connection? Try enabling it through that.. It really rings a bell and sure the "connection failed!" message has happened to me before. Seem to remember mine being something to do with the having a second "Internet gateway icon" that wasnt connecting. Have a look at services and stop and start wireless zero service is another thing to try
