At the Walsall game, I sat in block 2 for the first time. I normally sit in block 36 Kingsland corner to get a good atmosphere but wow, being so close to the away fans and eyeballing them across the corner the atmosphere was excellent.

Now we are in the Championship, is it likely that blocks 1 - 3 will be open this season ?

I seriously hope so because I would consider getting a season ticket in that corner and with enough vocal fans we could get some loud support going !

I think the should open block 2 but keep 1 and 3 shut. That way there'll be a mini red and white striped mosaic in that corner permanently (if all the fans wear white of course).

I used to have a season ticket there and it was excellent. Gutted it was closed.

Same we had two season tickets block 3 now sit block 42. Hopefully open it again

I might get an ST next season and if I do that area would probably be my first choice.

Behind the goal in the Northam is too common. The Kingsland/Northam corner is decent but you can't really hear or see the away fans which I think detracts from the spectacle a bit. Anywhere nearer the Chapel is a no go.

I sat there for the last game of the season hoping that some of the old ST/members who sat there would move for old times sake but it was disappointingly full of people who literally didn't know all the words to OWTSGMI :(

Discussed here

Question is whether the better atmosphere justifies the extra costs - worth remembering that Blocks 1-3 were open for the first three seasons we were in the championship -seasons where attendances were often lower than ours last season in L1.

three seasons not two

Used to sit in block 2 and vaguely remember Block 1 being used as segregation for some matches. Don't see why they can't do that again with very little by way of extra stewarding. Doesn't matter if there is 4ft or 4 miles of that black netting, you aren't getting across it.

I sat in block 1 row bb for most of 2002 season, atmosphere was great with the away fans close by. Can never understand why some people spent so much time facing and taunting away fans when there was a football match taking place on the pitch.

FWIW at the end of the all saints game i walked from the northern into the itchen and heard a conversation between a fan and a steward who said that blocks 1-3 were being given to the away fans and that the northam could be used by all home fans, She said work was being done over the summer, but surely have the away entrance right next to the main ticket office, and the hospitality would be chaos, and plus you have the directors boxes as well which would be above away fans...cant see it working

Why not reserve these corporate boxes for away fans?

Likewise. My ST was in block 2 as well. Best place in the ground without doubt.

Used to be far better than the Northam IMO when it had a decent bunch of regulars. Against Walsall it was dulled down massively with one game wonders but hopefully if it's open every game next season then it'll get back to it's previous levels

i sat over in Block 1 or 2 for a couple of seasons and i loved it over there, but i also love the Northam/Kingsland corner, there's a great atmosphere in both parts of the ground.
