sambosa75 Posted 11 May, 2011 Share Posted 11 May, 2011 Just watched it now. Am I right in thinking this is just because he happens to be Catholic and managing a largely Catholic-inclined football club? ****e league, ****e teams. Both Rangers and Celtic would be Championship at best in England.

Who gives a f*ck whether youre catholic or protestant nowadays??, its just yet another excuse for the scots to have a good ruck. Roll on the independence referendum, good luck salmond, I hope you get what you wish for.

hamster Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Religion. At the root of most of this world's evils. Absolutely and undeniably wrong CS, sorry my friend. Religion may be one of the vehicles but it is always MAN that is driving. Just like money, love, power, football or just a pub fight over a humble game of pool it is man who is to blame when violence erupts Every single time. We even fight over peace! egg Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Religion. At the root of most of this world's evils. No. Religion is an excuse for violence, not the cause of it. Quite why Lennon has become such a target I do not know. Madness.

Both Rangers and Celtic would be Championship at best in England. Why as high as the Championship? Cardiff had to join the Southern League before they could join the English Ladder. So should these two. Just because they're top dogs in a league of teams that most of whom could be beaten by Eastleigh they seem to think that they have some kind of right to join the more lucrative English league. They're no different to Linfield or Glentoran in Northern Ireland, should we let them join as well.

TBF I used to like lennon as a player but ever since he has come into the Celtic job he has done nothing to quell the hatred between the two teams. Did you not see him on the Ibrox pitch walking around punching the air after the rangers celtic game ?? The man is a f*cking idiot.

Most managers in the English Leagues do that, and look at Mourinho when he was with Porto at Old Trafford or David O'Leary when he was at Villa, its ridiculous that a player or a manager can't celebrate a teams win because it might upset the opposition fans, and the fact that he his not the same religion as those fans means that some decide that he should be killed. Look at Billy Davies with us, annoying little prat but doesn't warrant physical violence or death.

Prince Jazzbo Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 Playing Devil's Advocate here, its funny how everyone says religion to blame, or its an excuse for violence, and then in the next breath say that they hate pompey, and sing songs about dirty skate bastards etc. Surely geographical based hatred is the same. I'd like to state that I also hate pompey, I'm just saying in some ways the two aren't vastly different.

Violence over geographical based hatred/pride over people's location, does seem to be a bit more rational than fighting because you disagree with stories from thousands of years ago about some c**t with a beard. OldNick Posted 13 May, 2011 Share Posted 13 May, 2011 Lennon has obviously done things to really rile people. WGS never had the problem and all the others before that. Lennon has inflamed the situation himself and I can only assume things went on when he lived in Ireland

Lennon has inflamed the situation himself and I can only assume things went on when he lived in Ireland Billy Davis riled us up the wrong way, but I don’t recall people wanting him killed. If Lennon were to end up dead, would we all be saying he asked for it? Edited 13 May, 2011 by Prince Jazzbo
