JRM Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 Or Vassell in Turkey? hahahah brilliant, i doubt many of them even knew who he was, or maybe they checked his football manager ratings then rushed out to celebrate
Turkish Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 hahahah brilliant, i doubt many of them even knew who he was, or maybe they checked his football manager ratings then rushed out to celebrate I'm surprised at this to be honest, surely they'd have had a debate on http://www.theAnkaragücüweb.com, similar to the one we had on here last season when Vassell was linked, discussing if his goal record for England would make him a decent signing for a club of that level and coming to the conclusion that he probably wouldn't.
Tamesaint Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 Presumably Pulis will not be going to Vegas. He will be at Wembley enjoying Daddy's big day.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 Seems Cortese was persuaded to take the lads to Vegas whilst a little tipsy on the way back from Plymouth.
LVSaint Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 What are you planning on doing at the airport? Let them enjoy a holiday in peace! Firstly I'm going to run up and hug them, sing their individual songs to them then invite them back to my house for a BBQ. What did you expect?
Vegas Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 GM posted that it's the Bellagio. Vegas, Robert and Col....I might be able to get to the airport for the Virgin flight if I finish up at work in time. I'm only 10 mins away. Otherwise it'd be BA at about 7pm. (I'm presuming NC hasn't got them on a stopover flight) I'll be on the Strip Saturday and Sunday anyway milling about as my wife's family are coming in to town. Be good to meet up with some of you for a drink and a chance to catch the players gamble away their bonuses. I'll be at the Cosmopolitan on Sunday at the Book & Stage, there's a good band playing. Feel free to drop by LV, it's been a while since we watched the FA Cup final together! Anyone else who is here too.

Not promising anything but we haven't been to Cosmo yet so might be a good excuse. What sort of music can we expect? Don't think anyone went to the airport as no one knew which flight v All the best, Col.
LVSaint Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Did you make it? How was the BBQ? Where was everyone? I looked like a bit of a prat. I think I'm at the M on Sunday evening for some food, but I'm sure I'll be able to come by (wife's family are staying at the Aria, which is right by there isn't it) Be good to meet up. Robert from the Cup final may be up for it as well...and maybe some others on here. Anyway... The international terminal in Vegas is tiny. Were only a few people and chauffeurs waiting to meet passengers in the small arrivals area. Aaron Martin and a couple of others I did not recognize came through before the others. A bit later the bulk of the team came through (do not remember seeing OXO, Connolly, Jaidi, Gobern or Guly. They might have sneaked past.) A few gave me an odd look (I’m probably the last thing they want to see after a 10 hour flight) but several seemed quite chuffed that they had instant recognition landing in Vegas (Seabourne and Harding seemed happy). One of them, I think Kelvin, muttered something along the lines of “we come here to get away from this” – fair enough! Then, just outside the building, Chaplow and Lallana were cracking up seeing my Rickie Lambert SGM t-shirt, dragged Rickie back in to say hello. Richard and Adam got their iPhones out and snapped Rickie and I. They were very amused! I think they initially thought I was a yank and was wearing some random t-shirt, not knowing who Lambert was. Explained to them I was well aware of who they all were and that I was back only a few months ago to see them play. They shuffled off to get taxis. I hung around a little longer to see if NC and Nigel were to emerge. (Nigel was probably already on the bus) Got bored and left. Oh...Said hello to Drew Surman earlier in the day (with the Delia party), wished him luck in the Prem to which he thanked me for. Jolly nice lad! Bit surreal and a little bit awkward, but great to see them all. Nice to get to chat (albeit briefly) to a few of them and to say thanks for putting on a great season. Rickie, Adam and Richard were brill! Not sure I’m too bothered getting out to find them in the casino. They must get it enough in Soton, and as Sourmush mentioned in the thread, I suppose he is right…they deserve to get to have a private holiday in (anonymous) peace. Well…maybe.
Vegas Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Haha, that's great Col! When I've seen Lambert or Lalana in interviews, they have always struck me as being down to earth so good on them for indulging you. I would have been there were it not for work, would have been a laugh. Lol at Kelvin, he's probably right. I'll be at Cosmo from about 8pm onwards, the band comes on at 10pm. They have mostly rock/alternative bands, this Sunday its a group called Most Thieves. Drop by if you can. Cheers, Matt.
LVSaint Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 (edited) OK, sounds a like a plan for Sunday. I'll have on my black FLybe top (only Saints shirt I have that's clean). Edited 16 May, 2011 by LVSaint
maxi_sopez Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 heading to vegas now from nyc... hope i bump into them
yorkie Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Truly great - half way around the world - after a 10-hour flight they get met but a Saints fan. I really don't think the players realise how many fans live outside of Southampton. Global club with one fan in Vegas to greet them. I might have to drive down to Scunny and welcome Adkins home now! Don't you just love the togetherness at our club?

Is that you or Richard Chaplow in the middle?
Liquidshokk Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Is that you or Richard Chaplow in the middle? I thought that. Think it's very much Richard chaplow dressed as a middle aged man.
dubai_phil Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Magical stalking effort LVS. Good job. Great thread. Next mission mid-season break down here.... Eric - get to work
LVSaint Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 It's very much Richard Chaplow. I'm gradually losing my hair, but it hasn't got to that stage yet. I really didn't have much opportunity to take any other snaps. The occasion got to me I'm afraid and I was a little flustered! heh!
Badger Posted 14 May, 2011 Posted 14 May, 2011 Is that you or Richard Chaplow in the middle? or the geezer who ran on the pitch to interview Chaplow last Sunday ?
red&white4life Posted 15 May, 2011 Posted 15 May, 2011 OK, sounds a like a plan for Sunday. I'll have on my black FLybe top (only Saints shirt I have that's clean). Better still, give me a call 400-0414 (and anyone else for that matter) to arrange a meet up for Sat/Sun or both. We should be there between 7 & 8 as we are going to try the buffet out first, there are 4 of us and I will be wearing the home strip. Let the drinking commence ;o) Col.
