doddisalegend Posted 11 May, 2011 Posted 11 May, 2011 Given we all think spirit and togetherness hasn't been this good for several years' date=' I see nothing wrong with this trip whatsoever. A chance to celebrate together as a team (WAGS not going I believe) to ensure through thick and thin next season - and there will be little runs where we don't do well - one thing we won't be lacking is togetherness. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas eh?
dubai_phil Posted 11 May, 2011 Posted 11 May, 2011 Hope NC paid for them to go Upper Class. A helluva a long way to sit in the back for our Highly tuned athletes. Sudden image of a FlyBE Puddle Jumper bumbling out of Eastleigh, stopping off at Prestwick, Rekjavik, Gander & Chicago to refuel, followed by OK that's it lads time's up, back on the plane. But in seriousness, they bloody deserve it, let them rock and hope they don't need any Super Injunctions.
maxi_sopez Posted 11 May, 2011 Posted 11 May, 2011 I will make sure they behave and if they dont i wont tell anyone.
offix Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Offix - check your email. Fancy a stalk? No mail. But I DO fancy a stalk if work allows! I'll send you an email @ yahoo again
LVSaint Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 No mail. But I DO fancy a stalk if work allows! I'll send you an email @ yahoo again Got your email. This could be a fun weekend.
ericofarabia Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Yep, looks that way. Good luck to them. As for Oxo drinking, isn't only illegal if it's bought for him? Are you suggesting he was drinking stolen hooch? The plot thickens!!
ericofarabia Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Offix - check your email. Fancy a stalk? Is that a euphemism Just as well you guys don't live in San Francisco as we might have got the wrong end of the stalk ... er sorry stick!!
trousers Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Nope, they were drinking in the disabled area in front of the directors box. Throw the book at them I say! It really is silly that you can drink in the stands at cricket and rugby but not football. Bloody hooligans ruining it for the rest of us. Indeed..,you've countered your own argument there. It's not "silly", rather it's very sensible given the average IQ of a football supporter who's had a few beers compared to a rugby or cricket fan who has similarly imbibed. Edit: and, of course, the law is an ass as a lot of people end up drinking more and quicker because of the rush to down a beer or two before the game starts and at half time. So, the rule doesn't actually achieve what it sets out to achieve. IMO
SFC Forever Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 The minimum drinking age in Las Vegas is 21, and the minimum gambling age is 21. Minors are not allowed in the casino gaming areas. A few of them could be facing a dull holiday. Although, all of them were illegally drinking in the St Mary's stands on Saturday (including 17 year old Chamberlain). So who knows, maybe they'll get away with it , but is Vegas really the best idea for a company with young employees? In a building I thought that it was only illegal if you bought the drinks or had someone buy them for you. My kids have always been allowed a small amount of beer when I am throwing a party or at one.
SFC Forever Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Why we have to comment on him having a beer I don't understand. We all must let our kids have a drink uner supervision.
OldNick Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Yep, looks that way. Good luck to them. As for Oxo drinking, isn't only illegal if it's bought for him?my understanding was that players like Gobern were not old enough to go on the trip and so Ox would also not go
doddisalegend Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 my understanding was that players like Gobern were not old enough to go on the trip and so Ox would also not go So what do the youngsters get? doesn't seem fair not give them some sort of reward if they particpated this season. Prehaps NC could take them to pizza hut for an ice cream factory followed by a trip to monkey bussiness in Eastleigh for a play......
Guided Missile Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Got your email. This could be a fun weekend. Bellagio, lads, if it helps....
rolosfc Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 I hope Cortese bets Forecast's contract and loses. This
Turkish Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Why we have to comment on him having a beer I don't understand. We all must let our kids have a drink uner supervision. Because some people like to nit pick and find something to moan about on every possible occasion.
Kaiser Soze Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 If Forecast gets a place on the plane it's a disgrace, he's done f//k all this season! Cortese should treat Adkins to the best hooker in Vegas money can buy.

Window Cleaner Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Vegas will be like a home from home for our lads this week-end, Norwich are there as well, maybe Orient too.

dubai_phil Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 So who's gonna be locked out on the roof, and who will be the ones stealing Mike Tyson's Tiger?
theyin Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Vegas is like the 60's, if you remember it, you weren't really there. Only with Vegas, the sheer vulgarity of the place demands one needs to get absolutely tw atted to deal with it. RIP Crazy Horse Too
red&white4life Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Got your email. This could be a fun weekend. LV, there are 2 of us in Vegas now, do you know which flight they are on? Would be great to be there to greet them? All the best, Col.
LVSaint Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 LV, there are 2 of us in Vegas now, do you know which flight they are on? Would be great to be there to greet them? All the best, Col. Haha! Was thinking of doing the same.... I doubt NC would have them changing en route, so it could be one of two direct flights. Virgin gets in at about 14:00 and BA at about 19:00 Let me know if you're up for it. (Oh....and Thanks for the tip off there guided missile. You pretty sure about this?)

Jonnyboy Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Cheers LV. I'm am definately up for it but my mate and the wives aren't so sure. Will sort it all out when we know which flight. Col. How much is a flight at such short notice?
red&white4life Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 How much is a flight at such short notice? Sorry matey but don't know as I'm already out here, usually a bit pricey if there are only a few seats left. Col.

Think i'm right in saying Virgin are the only ones with direct flights to Vegas? (From Gatwick) If they go on that flight they'll get into Vegas at 14:10 local time.

Vegas Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 I think the BA flight gets in later, around 6pm IIRC. I wonder of NC is going to stump up the cash for a trip to Pahrump for the boys?!
Macey_J2 Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 It is my understanding that Forecast is 'on the bus' for their celebratory trip.
LVSaint Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 I wonder of NC is going to stump up the cash for a trip to Pahrump for the boys?! I hope not, it's a ****ehole. What's in Pahrump anyway.....oh I see!
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Who cares, its a private company ...
InvictaSaint Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 I wonder if NC filled in each player's ESTA online......must have taken ages....
dubai_phil Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 It is my understanding that Forecast is 'on the bus' for their celebratory trip. Someone's gotta queue at the bar for the beers..... Why does Adam Sandler & Waterboy spring to mind?
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Someone's gotta queue at the bar for the beers..... Why does Adam Sandler & Waterboy spring to mind? Well if Forecast has the same impact on the team next season as the Waterboy did in that film then I think we'll be just fine!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 OMG i am going on Sunday, not to be creepy but any idea where they are staying. I am definitely gonna go try and find them. Will keep you all updated, camera at the ready, ready to beat them at poker! Have a look to see if David Nugent is there too, as per a post in one of the transfer speculation threads...

LVSaint Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 I am going to be in Vegas saturday night through till thursday, any idea which one of the hotels they r going to be staying in? Hopefully will bump into them at the MGM! GM posted that it's the Bellagio. Vegas, Robert and Col....I might be able to get to the airport for the Virgin flight if I finish up at work in time. I'm only 10 mins away. Otherwise it'd be BA at about 7pm. (I'm presuming NC hasn't got them on a stopover flight) I'll be on the Strip Saturday and Sunday anyway milling about as my wife's family are coming in to town. Be good to meet up with some of you for a drink and a chance to catch the players gamble away their bonuses.
hamster Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 I've just had a text that Alex OC is going with the academy boys to Disneyland instead of Vegas due to the restrictions. He bid on eBay for a Mickey Mouse outfit for the trip and has just bought Portsmouth Football Club by mistake.

JRM Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 What are you planning on doing at the airport? Let them enjoy a holiday in peace! Maybe when the players realise that we have a Las Vegas supporters club they will realise we are a MASSIVE club, and any of them thinking of leaving will quickly put pen to paper and sign up / turn down offers from premiership clubs? I expect to see scenes like this when Kenny Miller joined bursaspor
sfc1976 Posted 13 May, 2011 Posted 13 May, 2011 Vegas is like the 60's, if you remember it, you weren't really there. Only with Vegas, the sheer vulgarity of the place demands one needs to get absolutely tw atted to deal with it. RIP Crazy Horse Too Ahh, that takes me back a few years. It was my first time in Vegas, and my first time in a strip club too! Walked in there on a Saturday night and my brain simply couldn't deal with what my eyes were telling it. I had no idea it was full contact, what a pleasant surprise that was. Naturally I had to 'go out the back', what a night. Fast forward a few years later, and a cabbie is delivering the devastating news that it was no more. If you're reading this Monica, do get in touch, I really felt we had a connection.
