SuperMikey Posted 10 May, 2011 Posted 10 May, 2011 Hi guys, I woke up this morning to find a bite on the underside of my right arm which wasn't there yesterday. My whole arm feels quite sluggish and heavy, almost like a dead arm. It's also itching quite a lot away from the bite, on the other side of my arm. I don't know what could have bitten me, but considering my accommodation is covered in cobwebs from tip to toe i'm thinking it may be a spider bite. Do you reckon it's worth going to see the doc about or should I tough it out?
The Cat Posted 10 May, 2011 Posted 10 May, 2011 Sounds fatal to me. No time to bother A&E, so you may as well just down a litre of vodka, snort 5 grams of coke, neck a packet of anadin and go out with a bang.
Dog Posted 10 May, 2011 Posted 10 May, 2011 Has it got two little dots in the centre? More likely a spider, but it may be a flea. Can anyone do this? http://poststuff6.entensity.net/050911/head.php
SuperMikey Posted 10 May, 2011 Author Posted 10 May, 2011 F*ck it, if i'm still alive tomorrow i'll go then. I want all of you guys at my wake if I die, then you can sing "There's only one SuperMikey, one SuperMikey...". It's even got the right number of syllables.

Can anyone do this? http://poststuff6.entensity.net/050911/head.php A great-uncle of mine used to be able to do this! He also used to be able to stand with both feet together, one pointing to 12 o'clock and the other to 6 o'clock. He's dead now.

SuperMikey Posted 10 May, 2011 Author Posted 10 May, 2011 Sounds like a botfly issue. Google it. Don't put those ideas in my head man! Botfly videos on YouTube are a hobby of mine...sick and twisted as it is.

Don't be silly, every song now has to be sung to the 'do what we want' tune. Therefore yours will be - "he's Super Mikey, he died from a bite, he died from a bite, he died from a biiiiiiiiite" etc etc

Then tell your boyfriend to stop biting you when you're conker deep inside him.
LVSaint Posted 10 May, 2011 Posted 10 May, 2011 ...and will make you sleep for weeks Coma?! Crickey! Blandford Fly? Any sign of cellulitis? My bro in law in Oxfordshire was recently bitten by one of these causing swelling and other unpleasantness.

Do you reckon it's worth going to see the doc about or should I tough it out? I was out in our garden a couple of months ago starting a "post-winter tidy up" out there and the next day, noticed I'd been bitten on my leg. It didn't go away for about 3 weeks and developed in to a nice "bullseye" pattern (large red bite centre, white circle round that, red itching, raised circle around that), so I went to the Dr. We get a lot of deer and so on in our garden and turns out it was probably a tick bite (deer carry ticks) and I got sent for a Lyme Disease test and put on antibiotics. Luckily it was caught early enough and 2 weeks later it had gone and I now have a scar left. Worth seeing the Dr if it is persistent!
Saint-scooby Posted 11 May, 2011 Posted 11 May, 2011 Pretty sure a tick would of taken its time, they need to burrow in and find a supply of blood. They dont bite and then leave, I have had a few in private places over the years, still got part of one in the side of my chest. If you have lost any use in your arm get down the docs ASAP chances are you have a slight reaction to the bite. could of been a mosquito, they are quite active at the mo. Saying that my ex had a 3' Adder in her porch on Monday, they give a nasty bite !!!

Weston Saint Posted 12 May, 2011 Posted 12 May, 2011 Sounds like it could be a bite from a false black widow spider which are quite common in Southern England. I had a few in my garage For reassurance: Spider bite symptoms There are 640 species of spider in the UK. Only 12 of these have been known to bite humans in the UK and this includes two Steatoda species, S. grossa and S. nobilis . The severity of symptoms from any spider bite depends on the amount of venom that is injected. False widow spider bite reports include symptoms such as chest pains, swelling and tingling of fingers. Last year a man went to hospital for treatment after being bitten by what may have been a false widow spider - the spider was never caught so it wasn't identified.
