Was it just me or did he looked seriously ****ed off that the fans were on the pitch?

I know he'd probably planned the lap of honour and trophy presentation, but surely they must have expected a pitch invasion, especially considering the low number of stewards, i think there was about 10 stretched across the whole northam.

I think the huge grin, waving at the fans, lifting the trophy and celebrating with his son (I assume) paint a different picture.

why on earth were some of you weirdos studying cortese's facial expressions at the final whistle rather than enjoying the promotion and celebrating?

I was a few rows in front and was trying to gauge what he was feeling. he looked calm and content and looked like he didn't want to get too carried away (he's nowhere near his target yet). He looked slightly nervous at times too with so many eyes on him and I'm sure he was fighting emotions when "one Markus Liebherr" was being sung, as his bit onto his lip throughout. Yes, I know I paid far too much attention :)

He certainly didn't look p!ssed off at any point, from where I was standing.

You have been quite the bitter and twisted so and so lately, JRM!

If thats not a very very happy boss then I don't know what is, if he looked slightly ****ed at the prospect of a pitch invasion it was probably only becuase he knows how much it costs to maintain probably the best pitch outside the top flight.

Oh good, more fans not happy with having little to moan about, so trying to make something out of nothing.

Saw him in the Concourse bar after the game and he was fine. Shaking peoples hands and having pictures taken. Some people just look for a problem when it doesn't exist.

it amazes me how a small minority have to find something negative to say about the club and NC in particular. I should imagine NC went through a number of different emotions on Saturday.....his great friend never got to see part of the dream fulfilled and the singing by the fans chanting Markus name must have really chocked him. He has never been in charge of a football club that has just won promotion and he must have felt an enormous amount of pressure delivering promotion for not only the fans but the Leibherr family. If he didnt appear totally relaxed i'm not surprised but i bet he was brimming with pride inside that he has delivered part one of Markus dream.

Have a great summer NC and thanks for a great year. Great to be a Saints fan once again.

You shouldn't be posting resonable logical posts like this on here !!

Well said sir :-)

I thought he looked more nervous rather then annoyed. Then as others mentioned he started to get more chilled and joined in as it progressed.

Could be many reasons why he was nervous. I remember sometime ago he mentioned something about him having severe anxiety on match days, sometimes not even being able to sleep the night before.

Not having a moan or being negative, you can tell NC was enjoying himself towards the end, looked like he'd relaxed a bit as others mentioned. Just thought that he seemed annoyed at the pitch invasion at first, which surprised me considering how little effort was made to keep people off. Almost as if he never expected it.

Was a great day though and a really fitting end to the season. Give me a trophy presentation in the directors box over a lap of honour any day!

Blow me, that's a big watch! Is that the one Markus carried across town for Nicola? Big respect if it is.

I don't know any other club who constantly talks about the chairman. I hope next season he makes the right decisions and is hardly mentioned. I'm sure he would prefer it that way too.

Gets mentioned less the better we are doing, but deserves all the praise he gets, and also the stick if things go wrong.....all positive at the moment though!

You seem to be in the minority my friend on your attitude towards our good Chairman! If your quick to scathe him, you should equally praise him during his successes. To be fair he's been shown to get not a lot wrong in his time.

Long may his songs be sung @ St Marys

You say that but the second there is any negative speculation you and a few others would be all over it like a rash.

You say it as though Cortese is just another chairman.

im sure..infact, i am certain if a whiff of a rumour came out that he peed off MLT or Benali or had a row with another employee at the club, regardless if it was true or not

you would be all over it and posting stuff like "what a shame" etc

infact, you already have on the main page about Lawrie Mac

just have to accept, Cortese is very popular with saints fans in general..

I assume you're joking, look at Bates, Mitchell or that bloke at Newcastle. Fans are constantly *****ing about their owners and chairmen

In the style of the M&S advert "This is not any old chairman, it's the SFC Chairman"

I heard he was upset he didn't think of charging people £3 to go on the pitch.

:hunt:

I have little doubt that it will be included in next season's ticket price rise
