mel1961red Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 I thought he was so much better than Mr Dennis Sign him up !!!
tobes8 Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 ah no... he did my head in yesterday, he just could not keep still and was just so annoying....can we have Dennis Rofe Back???
Colinjb Posted 8 May, 2011 Posted 8 May, 2011 He tried a little too hard to be funny. The initial WTF when he went on the pitch to talk to Kelvin did make me laugh though.

bug187 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 should have had merrington doing it rather than managing... lulz
K,Billy's supersound Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 the pa system is so **** i couldnt hear a word that was said atall, ended up with a headache what with him and ****ty non stop music.
Lighthouse Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Let's be brutally honnest here. A large percentile of regular football goers are adult males and as such I think a woman with big knockers would be the perfect 'hostess' for our pre-match and half time entertainment. The competitions with Sammy Saint trying to save penalties taken by 4 year olds are pretty naff too. How about they get fans from each stand to try and wrestle a free season ticket which has been velcroed to a tiger?
lordswoodsaints Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Didn't you hear him......he was chaplows brother.
ponto1963 Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Could not understand a word he said, nor could my 15yo boys, total waste of time and space in my opinion, & theirs.
ralph_wiggum Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 My nipper had his birthday party at St Mary's and he ran the party, with a tour and penalty games in the concourse. Nice guy, I agree though, could have done with the sound being a bit clearer.
Jonnyboy Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought the players couldve made more effort in replying to his questions
Bourno Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 http://www.starnow.co.uk/SteveBennett Previous experience - Thorpe Park Street entertainer
landford.saint Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought we couldn't get any worse in commentator. But yesterday (and his double act Saturday) we managed it. Experiment over, no more of him please.
Sour Mash Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought we couldn't get any worse in commentator. But yesterday (and his double act Saturday) we managed it. Experiment over, no more of him please. This. How f****g annoying was he? Could see the players and officials didn't want anything to do with him either!
Barry the Badger Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought he did ok. Quite a lot of people around me were chuckling at him.

Agree, would much prefer some Ra-Ra girls than that dog thing and the bloke with the mic.
mel1961red Posted 9 May, 2011 Author Posted 9 May, 2011 Well I know not everyone will agree but I loved Mike Osman not that we are likely to ever see him back again but he was funny
LGTL Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 How about nobody? Just play a few decents songs an that's that.
Golden Balls Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought he was ok. You have to remember, this was quite clearly a family sort of day and he is clearly entertaining to kids. The enthusiasm in his voice sounds like he's always talking to the under 10s I've met him a couple of times (well, been around while people I know talk to him) and he seems like a nice guy. He just can't keep still when talking which I find uncomfortable. I too liked Mike Osman.
shurlock Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Some decent comperes in L1 - thought Huddersfield's was very good.
Mewsta Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 I thought he was good to be fair!!! I don't believe running on the pitch was his choice.... there was a guy in a suit with him most of the time instructing him to do it! Give him a chance.... Dennis is ****e... out of time with singing and clapping and to be fair when he shouts come on you saints, I just want to curl up and die!!! How cringeworthy!!!
JonnyLove Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Dear Saints FC (if your reading this). Please never ever let that knob jockey stuart dennis back in to do the match build up. If I see him waving his arms around in front of the Northam End one more time I will run at him with a spoon and disembowel him. Please can we have this nice new chap who appears to be Chris Marsden's love child (or Richard Chaplow's brother). So much better as at least he seems to know what a pre match build up is.
Bailey Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 (edited) I thought Steve did a very good job actually. He co-hosted during the Walsall game, and I thought it worked well. Expecting to see him at St. Mary's a lot more next season! Edited 9 May, 2011 by Bailey
Saint_clark Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 On the preview video for the game on sunday he does a lot of completely unnecessary hand movements...just seems to try too hard all round.

jam Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Dennis Rofe........please! This. Shorts and songs. That probably reads a bit dodgy...
hamster Posted 9 May, 2011 Posted 9 May, 2011 Just the good old Albion Band please .........:-) 100% agree, it would bring a tear to many eyes I reckon.
Julian H. Cope Posted 10 May, 2011 Posted 10 May, 2011 Can we just have some onions? That would bring a tear to my eyes I reckon.
