I must admit as we have been getting closer to Saturday, I have been having dark thoughts about half time as we are 2 down to Walsall! And the half time scores elsewhere are Huddersfield 11 Brentford 0.........Luckily I wake up soon after albeit in a cold sweat lol!!!

I surprised they didn't interview Gus, the best Manager in League One... ever!

Joking apart, a nice piece and I can see another good season ahead with Adkins at the helm.

"Brighton have been magnificent"

Wonder if Gus and co will find a way to twist that... how dare he be so patronising!

Great article though - there's a real sense of professional pride running through the club.

"There'll be a few additions in the transfer window," Adkins says, "but the good thing is we haven't got to go and bring a whole team in."

Sensible approach. Must keep maintain the team spirit that's got us promotion but improve the team where needed.

After getting behind the team so much during the last two seasons I for one wouldnt like to see any of the current team move on (apart from puncheon on a permanent basis) so will be weird if any of our lads are sold on. Was different when we offloaded all the crap players when pardew came in.

If we win on Saturday we'll have more points than any second-placed team in the last 20 years

Theres one for the stattos

its not really a ridiculous attitude to have in the media give nthat were playing a team with something to play for, look at brightons form sive they were promoted! He will want to win btu we know theyve had some celebrations or does bart run off the bench on the final whistle every game like that. Loved barts celebration!!!!

interesting stat about the highest point scoring 2nd place. yes he should achieve it with the players we had but make sthe points haul look even more respectable.

Personally i find his it's not over yet attitude a bit ridiculous.

I think more than anything else he wants the players to put on a show in front of what will be a full house. He has to try and make Saturday's game sound as if it matters.

It's true, I haven't been so attached to a Saints team since 2003, I wouldn't be too happy with anyone getting the chop or being marginalised except Punch. Pulis has a special place in my heart and I hope he stays with us forever, poor little lamb :D In all seriousness I can't think of any are that needs major strengthening in our first 11 although we might need to sign a long term replacement for Jaidi, (although Martin may just be the lad and he's a local boy,) as well as a midfield hardman.

I'd say we need a center back (jaidi is too slow and makes to many mistakes on the floor for championship), a right back, a central midfielder and a fast striker.

Alongside this we need cover for a few other areas too, but i'd expect we've already identified where and are looking at it.

Not totally sure about the right back but fully agree we need a pacy foil for Lambert.

I liked this comment at the end...

"And in the schadenfreude stakes Saints supporters can sing of the distinct possibility that [to the tune of Yellow Submarine]:

'Fratton Park is a future block of flats, future block of flats, future block of flats'

etc..

Perhaps Matt Slater of the BBC would like to comment...."

I had that one, but I remember the second half where we score 16 and win 16-2. I recall saying to catwoman and Commander Harmon Rabb, in the next seats, that..'It's nice that we gave a chance to the reserves, like Holder - Spooner, Tony Garrod, Racine, Callum McNish, Gene Hunt, Uncle Jessie, Mr Lakhani from the papershot, Shadwell my Director, and the weird kid from the Cadburies advert with the eyebrows.@

That then followed by a green Gus Poyet coming over the big screen and saying that for him and his team its was...'Time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's to meet the MU.... Brighton Team on the show tonight.

Then I woke up.

I didn't know where I was

Or how I got there

Or who that was next to me

Or why they were dressed like a clown

And why I was wearing nothing but a sailors outfit.

And then I remembered.

I work in Bexhill, near Brighton.

With a bunch of Skate bastards.

I liked the comment from a Scunny supporter. He says that NA sounds a bit of a soundbite manager in the press, but his work on the training pitch, etc, is first rate and quite different to others.
