Keep off the pitch on Saturday?

You say no harm done, not sure the steward clutching his chest and sweating on the floor getting medical assistance in the front of the Northam thought that

Well it seemed strange for some of the stewards infront of the Northam to try and wrestle fans to the ground when thousands were already on the pitch.

Didn't see that so how was I supposed to know? I meant no harm done in the sense there were no rucks, no smoke bombs a la Burnley, etc. It was a good natured pitch invasion.

Yeah there was one steward that grabbed a fan and wrestled him to the ground when there was at least 1000+ people already on the pitch and the stewards at the kingsland were waving fans on!

Saw the steward take a kicking from people as they ran past trying to make him let go of the Saints fan that he refused to let go of for running on the pitch

This. Just let fans enjoy themselves. If you wanna go on the pitch (As I did) go on and enjoy it ,if not sit in the stands and watch. As for the stewards (as usual) a couple of odd 'jobsworths' let themselves down. The rest were fantastic.

I was amused to see coppers & stewards were still intent on 'protecting' the away fans when all that was occurring was that 1000's of good natured Saints fans were applauding them and singing "you are staying up - you are staying up" at them.

Even before the match had finished the stadium announcer had informed everyone that Walsal were safe because Dagenham were beat - in all my years of following SFC I've not seen that happen before.

Got right up in the Itchen to watch the players celebrations.

But I can completely understand the people hacked off with the pitch invasion, like those in wheelchairs, as it would have been hard to see from the pitch/bottom of Itchen.

Tbf the bloke at the front of the Northam looked like he was having bad chest problems so may have been his heart.. and people can say glad he got a few slaps

was talking about the numpty who had a fan in headlock while hundreds ran past deserving a few slaps, not the fat steward behind the goal who looked in a bad way.

The steward in front of the chapel/kingsland corner did attempt to rugby tackle someone as the pitch invasion began, but soon realised there was no point!

He got hold of him for a few seconds though! I wasn't going to go on the pitch at first (I was sat in Row KK) but then the stewards just gave up so I made my way down there! Cracking.
