angelman Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 Not that I really care what the man does, but he is somewhat more interesting than most characters in the game. I was wondering whether he is trying to get himself sacked from Real. His behaviour vs. Barcelona recently has been a bit bizarre and I read that Ramon Calderon says that the club has been damaged. Coupled to that, when Jose was interviewed at the Spuds game, he was emphasising that he was contracted to Real blah blah blah and that when that finished he would want to come back to England. A bit strange to say that you want to return to England when you are being employed by the biggest club (or one of them) in the world. Not the best way to endear yourself to your employers as I would have thought that you might want to work towards extending your contract. I then went on to think that a lot of Arsenal supporters are growing restless with the lack of silverware. Wenger, while he must rate as one of the best managers around, has made some errors with his squad. Everyone is thinking Mourinho would replace Ferguson or go back to Chelsea, but I have never heard any connection/rumour/what ever with Arsenal. Rory Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 I really like Mourinho but the only challenge in the domestic game is toppling Barcelona. I think he realises he can't do it, even with the amount of cash at his disposal.
Hatch Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 I think recent events over the last couple of weeks have also cost him any chance he had of the Man Utd job.
JackFrost Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 The reason why they and anyone else can't topple Barcelona is because Barcelona not only have one of if not the best squad of players in the world, but their by the far the best in playing as a team in the world. Madrid may have an equally set of talented players but they are nowhere near as good a team. Most of the Barce players have developed together for years in 2s and 3s and they know each other's games inside out hence why they have an almost telepathic understanding of each other. I think the current Barce team will take up to a decade to topple, when the likes of Xavi & Iniesta, Messi start to age

Yeah because Ferguson never plays mind games and tries influencing referees! Mourinho is the boy.

sambosa75 Posted 7 May, 2011 Share Posted 7 May, 2011 I meant the style of football he plays. Destroy everything. Destroy everything but win a great deal too. I dont think he'll ever be short of job offers. He is welcome as Adkins Assistant Manager.
thesaint sfc Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 I'm also in the Mourinho fan club. Most managers are so boring - he's the only one who really lights up a club. Chelsea have become so mundane and boring without him. I think he missed the press coverage you get for being with an English top club. He'd do well at Arsenal I think, but I can't ever see Wenger going.
knellster Posted 12 May, 2011 Share Posted 12 May, 2011 I once had a great deal of time for him particularly for what he achieved at Porto, but I'm afraid that any respect he earned was lost when he lied in a press conference about what the referee in the Chelsea v Barca match did at half time. He is so far up his own @rse now that I just find his antics pathetic.
