Deppo Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 does anyone know if there any plans for an open top bus parade following our promotion? It would be great, especially with the weather the way it is! COYR
saintwiz Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 does anyone know if there any plans for an open top bus parade following our promotion? It would be great, especially with the weather the way it is! COYR You are joking, right?
thesaint sfc Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 All die hard Saints fans should want this IMO. UTS! Oh, they are.
Hatch Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 They can do a quick drive around the pitch after the match on Saturday ( or Sunday)
Lets B Avenue Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 does anyone know if there any plans for an open top bus parade following our promotion? It would be great, especially with the weather the way it is! COYR We passed the bus on the way home from Plymouth. It has a roof on it. Sorry.
Mattio Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 TBF we did "win" promotion but I doubt there will be an open top bus...
SaintNeil90 Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Walsall need to give us a guard of horror or they will be just be arrogant *****s
Deppo Posted 4 May, 2011 Author Posted 4 May, 2011 Celebrating coming second is a bit desperate. Brighton Fan alert! I didn't think you were allowed to post on the main board. Maybe someone could contact the club and ask them? I think it would be a good thing to do after the Allstars match, maybe with the current team on the top deck and the former players on the bottom deck?
doddisalegend Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 does anyone know if there any plans for an open top bus parade following our promotion? It would be great, especially with the weather the way it is! COYR Why stop there? Surely the team should recieve the keys to the city. Maybe we could rename city streets after members of the team The Lee Holmes avenue has a nice ring to it..... or Lambert street. Even that might not be enough for coming second.

Sarcasm is not allowed on SWF. Blimey, first we get a whole raft of people moaning about the club organising a free game against Saints Allstars and now, given the chance of an open top bus parade, we get the usual sniping and negativity.

Golden Balls Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 You are joking, right? Deppo? Joking? Noooooooooooooooooooo
sussexsaint Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Do we get a trophy? Nope, bizzare but Only champions and playoff winners get trophys, so 1st and 3rd get silverware but not 2nd
OttawaSaint Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 No thanks, Newcastle did one when they lost the cup final to Arsenal, it was cringeworthy...
thesaint sfc Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 We don't see enough feminine words like fabulous on here IMO.
suewhistle Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 No thanks, Newcastle did one when they lost the cup final to Arsenal, it was cringeworthy... I'm sure I remember an open top bus on the way back from Cardiff...

Shouldn't that be The Lambert Walk? Meanwhile cracking idea Deppo. Seeing as we haven't won a trophy we wouldn't have to worry about being like Real Madrid. How much more relaxed the whole afternoon will be without worrying about Tommy Forecast getting his hands on ooops
Saint Garrett Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I thought Leeds got a trophy for coming second last year ?
Toomer Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I think Sunday will a very good way to end it all off 125 years and promotion.
Hatch Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Probably a bit late to arrange a fly past with Spitfires and stuff, but maybe we could get the Queen Elizabeth to do a sail past.
trousers Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Here's Bournemouth celebrating their automatic promotion this year....
saint lard Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Perhaps we could get 250k on the common and dine off that for a few years whilst we just get 14k per home game.......i'm sure that has happened before somewhere.
Bearsy Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 A lot of Southampton fans live in surrounding areas so maybe the route could also take in Bournmouth and Porstmouth?
mcjwills Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 A lot of Southampton fans live in surrounding areas so maybe the route could also take in Bournmouth and Porstmouth? I reckon that the parade should start at Krap Nottarf and end at Krap Nottarf wannabe Court
Junction 9 Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I am really looking forward to this. I've heard so many stories about 76 and what a wonderful occasion the parade was. Hope they release the date soon so I can make sure I'm not working, this could be a once in a lifetime thing. I'd better pick which lampost to climb up!!
astrasri Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 "BlueStar" don't have any spare open top buses available this weekend - so they have arranged for their associate company to supply one..... in full Brighton and Hove Bus company livery
