angelman Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 Isn't it time to change the rules a bit and say that if you finish within x amount of points of 2nd you automatically go up? I realise that the money men like the play offs but potentially Bournemouth could finish 18 points behind Huddersfield and get promoted? 18 points is a huge difference and takes the mickey out of having a competition running over 46 games. Hatch Posted 3 May, 2011 Share Posted 3 May, 2011 The Play offs are brilliant. may not be fair, but everyone knows the rules before the season starts.
Cestrian Saint Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 I'd rather see a play off system where the teams in relegation positions from the league above are involved. Just like when the playoffs began. This season would see Huddersfield play Doncaster and Peterborough play Sheff Utd. The winners of the 2 games would meet in a final. This would see teams battling for promotion and fighting relegation. Much more exciting and stops all the nonsense that the team in 6th can go up ahead of the team who finish 3rd! SuperMikey Posted 4 May, 2011 Share Posted 4 May, 2011 In Italy they have a system where if the team in 3rd is 9 or more points ahead of the team in 4th, the team in 3rd goes up automatically. I think that's a pretty good system tbh. Would love to see inter-league play-offs come in, great idea.
