Deppo Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Egil Ostenstad owes me a scotch egg. I might see if I can get it off him.
hamster Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bugger it. Just agreed to spend Sunday with the father in law, it's his 70th or something. Maybe I could get so mullered on Saturday night that I have to stay in bed until half an hour before kick off. If they do a commemorative program could someone please get menhalfna dozen please? They're not for me btw.
SaintNeil90 Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Just changed my hours at work so I can go. This weekend will be a good one.
milan boy Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bet the players are p*ssed off. They were prob looking forward to going out on the smash Sat night. They did it last night in 90 degrees...one player alledgedly so ****ed he fell over and cut his arm...
Daren W Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Wow I feel very underwhelmed Great more tickets for those who are quite excited at the prospect of a free game....
dubai_phil Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Oh FFS. I waited and waited for the big news... Booked my flight to return to Dubai on Sunday at 17:00 from Heathrow. Went out for a pint and find out that if I'd waited OR they'd leaked it a bit earlier I could have gone. harumpf. never mind suppose I'll just make up for it on Saturday
lethallee Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Not exactly an all star team being lined up based on the names confirmed so far. I don't quite see the appeal myself. I will be there Saturday instead.
dune Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 It'll be all screaming kids in the stands. No thanks. That said it's a nice gesture from the club.
Sour Mash Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bet the players are p*ssed off. They were prob looking forward to going out on the smash Sat night. Can't see this really stopping them to be fair.
Sour Mash Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Decent gesture from the club, just don't know if it'll be a bit of a damp squib after Saturday. Anyone know if Duncan Spedding or Frankie Bennet will be getting a run out?
toofarnorth Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bet the players are p*ssed off. They were prob looking forward to going out on the smash Sat night. We know what happened last time Barnard did that!
dune Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 I would imagine it'll just be the Itchen centre that's opening. There will be lots of baloons and a clown making them into poodles and halos to be worn on the head. Free face painting. Goody bags. Screaming kids (as already mentioned) And several spaced out fans thinking what the f/ck am I doing here. I may well be one of them.

Screaming kids (as already mentioned) And several spaced out fans thinking what the f/ck am I doing here. Oh cheer up you miserable sod, no wonder why you're anti-Olympics. I've not doubt that with my hangover the screaming kids will do my head in, but to see the man (WGS) who, apart from the Alan Ball era, gave me some the best times watching Saints, it'll just be a nice bit of fun to round off a successful season.

Chez Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 can't stand friendlies, but even a moaning b'stard like me might even go as it is going to be a long old summer with no football.
B Rabbit Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Why are they making i difficult to get tickets (no phone or interwebz)....surely allowing people to go on the day, old school turnstile fashion, will mean a decent crowd.... be surprised if there's 10,000 given that most people will be celebrating the day before and not too bothered about this
Nexstar Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Why are they making i difficult to get tickets (no phone or interwebz)....surely allowing people to go on the day, old school turnstile fashion, will mean a decent crowd.... be surprised if there's 10,000 given that most people will be celebrating the day before and not too bothered about this Think they'd struggle to send out 10,000 or so tickets in 2/3 days. But it would just be a simple "2 tickets please", "here you go" at the ticket office on the day.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Great gesture by the club and a link with happier past times, sort of a uniting the club and burying the hatchet approach. Nice one Nicola.
carljack Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Should I be worried that I think it would be hilarious if Ali Dia was given the captaincy of this side ?
scotty Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Should I be worried that I think it would be hilarious if Ali Dia was given the captaincy of this side ? I'd pay to watch him.
mel1961red Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Got my tickets tonight in the Northern Stand so not just the Itchen thats opened
CFSFC Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Yeah Colbury mixing it up in 90 degrees with all the other Southampton personalities. Rampage for example.
Saint_clark Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Got my tickets tonight in the Northern Stand so not just the Itchen thats opened Northam*. But yeah, it says on the OS that it's not just the Itchen that's open. What with it being completely free entry i'll be amazed if we don't get a decent attendance for this.
STEVEADAMS Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Great gesture from the club wish I could be there. MLT has to be there, you couldn't do a day like this and not have him there. He is a legend of this club. Just wish all whoever they may be, would get over this petty squabbling if this is in fact the case.
LostBoys Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I am disappointed with the timing just after the game on saturday and the very short notice as i am going to find it difficult to get there on Sunday.
Deppo Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I'm furious that the club have not taken into account my prior engagements before arranging this game.
trousers Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I'm furious that the club have not taken into account my prior engagements before arranging this game. YOU'RE furious? I'm positively livid.
Clapham Saint Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Decisions decisions... Take my wife out for our first anniversary and stay married or go to this game and risk divorce.
Gingeletiss Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Decisions decisions... Take my wife out for our first anniversary and stay married or go to this game and risk divorce. This game is a one off, there are plenty of woman out there
dune Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Decisions decisions... Take my wife out for our first anniversary and stay married or go to this game and risk divorce. Take her along. And then go for a meal after.
OldNick Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 great gesture by the club. there is NO reason to moan in any way .......oh we still have people who are and its a freebie lol
Ampersound Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Please could someone let me know what the queues are like (if any) as I'm going to have to rush there after work later ?
Daren W Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 great gesture by the club. there is NO reason to moan in any way .......oh we still have people who are and its a freebie lol And yet they do... The club arranges a free game, that most normal people would look forward to and yet people mock the gesture and moan about the timing, the players on show and the ticketing arrangements... Seriously, we gain promotion, the club offers a free game... and some people moan? ffs...
doughnutman Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Jordan Sibley has just confirmed on Twitter that more names are to be announced on the OS shortly
dune Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 And yet they do... The club arranges a free game, that most normal people would look forward to and yet people mock the gesture and moan about the timing, the players on show and the ticketing arrangements... Seriously, we gain promotion, the club offers a free game... and some people moan? ffs... Most of the "moaning" is tongue in cheek.
sandwichsaint Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Bet the players are p*ssed off. They were prob looking forward to going out on the smash Sat night. If we get Burley in as well they can still do that.
Super_Uwe Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 I wonder if Tahar El Khalej will be there. With his now not so new boots with any luck.
Daren W Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Most of the "moaning" is tongue in cheek. And some of it isn't, surely no one can moan??
dune Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 And some of it isn't, surely no one can moan?? If Matt Le Tissier isn't there it would be a huge shame. He is the 90's.
Barry the Badger Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 List now updated on OS. Niemi, Svensson, Telfer, Paul Williams and a few others.
saint lard Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Niemi,Killer........Idiakez...... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2352485,00.html

Saint_clark Posted 4 May, 2011 Posted 4 May, 2011 Just thought, Le Tissier might not be able to attend even if he wants to, probably working on SSN sunday.
