Nexstar Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Could we perhaps have a poll on this please? Who do you want to see go up via the Play-Offs out of Peterboorugh, Borunemouth, MK Dons and Huddersfield? Personally I think Huddersfield deserve it 100%, so I would like to see them take it. Even though any of the other 3 would mean a shorter journey, and the possibility of Pilkington perhaps leaving the Galpharm...
stevegrant Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth, because they'd stand absolutely no chance of competing with us next season. With the right signings, the other three could. However, Huddersfield are clearly the most deserving of the four.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 I don't really care who does it, I don't really agree that Huddersfield deserve it because finishing 3rd means you deserve the playoffs and not automatic. They have been great this season and should win the playoffs but if they don't go up it won't be unlucky for them since the reward for 3rd - 6th is playoffs and nothing more.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Definately Bournemouth. Limited funds would mean less strengthening. There's a couple of players in the other teams that might fancy the step-up if they lose out on promotion (e.g. Pilkington, CMS).
Thedelldays Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 cherries....just to see them get smashed next season, local away game and 6 points for us
The9 Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 I'd like another 6 points from Bournemouth next season please - they and the Franchise, who I never want to see succeed in anything, also have the fewest players we might potentially steal, so if they went up it might leave Huddersfield and Peterborough's better players ripe for the pickings - though I suspect Mackail-Smith is going to Norwich now they're Prem-bound. And I honestly don't care about them going up, it'll be quite amusing and they could also set a new Championship record for low points next season. I'd rather we were nicking competent Prem players of course, but we don't really know how the money situation is, do we ?
benjii Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 If I was Norwich I would be setting my sights a bit higher than CMS now.
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 It should be Huddersfield, purley because they're the third best team by a mile. But for purley selfiish reasons - Bournemouth, a nice local away game and 6 points.
The9 Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 If I was Norwich I would be setting my sights a bit higher than CMS now. He did an interview last week in which he said he'd used the CCC spell last season to work out how to improve his game to become a proper Championship or Prem player, and Ferguson, since he's been back at Posh has also commented on how massively improved he is since the last time he was manager, so having him as a low-level Prem striker to complement Holt and Jackson - you'd imagine alongside a more Prem-experienced striker - isn't all that unlikely. But I can see your point, they've already got two up front with no Prem experience, why sign another ? In which case, I think he'd do well for us, but I'd rather we were getting someone of a Yakubu or Bellamy standard, seeing as they're nearer Prem than nPC standard but have both spent months slumming it.
thefunkygibbons Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 If there is any justice, it should be Huddersfield Their run brought out the best in us
beatlesaint Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Totally torn on this one. Huddersfield deserve it, no question. But Bournemouth.....easy 6 points and another South Coast club would be great.
sussexsaint Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield, they utterly deserve it. Plus if Peterborough don't go up we might chuck a few quid their way for CMS
Son of Bob Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth would be great but Huddersfield are definitely most deserving. Difficult one to call. I think I'll go for Huddersfield as Bournemouth acted like total tossers over our 'non-existent rivalry' this season.
Lighthouse Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bompey, just for sh*ts and giggles. (They're sh*t, we giggle)
SuperMikey Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield definitely deserve it the most, but I would like to see Bournemouth up there with us next season. They could use the money, and even if they're only up there for a season it will definitely boost their club's reputation. Add the close proximity for away games and the fact that we'd easily take 6pts off them, it's a no-brainer.
Minsk Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 1st choice - Huddersfield 2nd choice - Bompey Really don't want it to be MKD or Posh.
doddisalegend Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bompey as everyone else has said 6pts and nice easy away match Dons becuase the in-laws live in MK so nice easy away match Not posh becuase Ferguson Jr is a **** Hudders not bothered
benjii Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield, they utterly deserve it. Plus if Peterborough don't go up we might chuck a few quid their way for CMS Whether they go up or not will have zero bearing on whether they sell CMS - he is going anyway.
Griffo Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Aren't Peterborough getting rid of their terrace? If they're not, then I'd be tempted to say them. Going to go for Bournemouth though.
saintjay77 Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 I would like Bompey to go up just to Laugh at Pompey when us BHA and Bompey all finish above the skates but due to the way Huddersfield have gone about this season I would be more than happy to see them go up. Conducted themselves better and played the game better than BHA so IMO are more deserving of promotion that BHA.
1976_Child Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Mouth of the Bourne. All four south coast clubs in the same league
saints-cris Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Hudds because they could actually do well if they go up, none of the others will, and quite frankly they deserve it. But I wouldn't mind Bompey going up just for the lolz. They will go straight back down though.
DT Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Until yesterday, I would have said Bournemouth as the south coast massive looks good on paper. But then I read Huddersfield's good wishes to us on their fan site. They seem like a really nice bunch. And to beat the rest by 10 clear points seems a little harsh on them. So them. Go, Udders...
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield no doubt deserve it, but I have a feeling that Peterborough will.
thesaint sfc Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield no doubt deserve it, but I have a feeling that Peterborough will. This.
St Marco Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bompey simply because means less miles to travel to an away game next year
saints_is_the_south Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield deserve it but Bompey for me also for the same reason as above. Could be quite a Southern league if things turn out well, West Ham coming down, Reading stay down and Bompey come up, loads of close away days.
saint_jas Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Definitely Huddersfield but it would be funny if Bournemouth went up.
Golden Balls Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth for me. Easier away day and good for the South Coast.
SNSUN Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield deserve it, they really do, but I think it would be funny to see Bournemouth go up. They're the most overachieving team in the play-offs, and I would imagine they'd struggle next season in a similar way that I see Norwich struggling in the league above. That said, the majority will probably say Huddersfield or Bournemouth, but Posh will always score the goals when they need them. THAT said - it'll be MK Dons. :-)
alpine_saint Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Quite fancy a five-way slug-fest between us, Pompey, Reading, Brighton and Bournemouth, but I have to say I reckon Huddersfield are more deserving.
Dellman Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth would make it a South coast sweep, just as long as its not Fergie's Peterboro
derry Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth have had a couple of gutsy seasons and achieved miracles on a very small budget. If they win the playoffs I'll take my hat off to them. Huddersfield are the best team in it, if they don't win, it will be because somebody else was better on the day.
Ric Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Definitely Huddersfield for me. Some seasons the play-offs are quite close, but Huddersfield are clearly by far the best team of the four and fully deserve to go up. Of the rest? I suppose I'd prefer Bompey to go up as second choice - mainly because the MK Dons are the MK Dons, and because of Ferguson.
Legod Third Coming Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth, because they'd stand absolutely no chance of competing with us next season. With the right signings, the other three could. However, Huddersfield are clearly the most deserving of the four. Agree with all that. However, I can't be the only one who can see a wry Fergie smile when he takes Posh up and Preston have come down....
Appy Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Bournemouth (for the local game) or Peterborough (for the terrace).
Chin Strain Posted 3 May, 2011 Posted 3 May, 2011 Huddersfield deserve it, so will go for them. 2nd choice Bompey (they'd wet themselves), 3rd Franchise. I have no 4th choice because Ferguson is a complete tw4t
