stevegrant Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 Arsenal's cheapest ST next season? Almost £900. Most expensive? Just under £2k. Madness. As horrific as that sounds, that price does include all home Champions League group games and (I think) FA Cup ties. Still expensive, but there are added benefits at Arsenal. A few other clubs are doing the same for next season - Hereford's season tickets will include home cup games in all three competitions.
saintrich Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 I'm 21 in June - if renewed beforehand, will I still qualify for under 21? or take the expensive step up to adult
mancsaint Posted 5 May, 2011 Posted 5 May, 2011 I understand that previously the club ran a direct debit scheme with no additional cost. This is clearly bonkers and no wonder it was stopped. A lot of clubs offer a scheme through some sort of third party to whom you will pay extra. However, if the club doesn't do this then there is nothing whatsoever stopping any but the most hard-of-thinking fans from arranging their own "installment" plan (credit card, small loan, saving up through the previous season etc...) It was the fact that the club had no way of stopping the numerous people on the installment plan who stooped paying monthly. I believe a system at the turnstiles will read tickets and reject any installment non payers, thereby stopping what has happened in the past. The off season will see what happens at the turnstiles. This will would also reduce the need for ticket gatherers at the turnstiles.

Their tickets do include a set number of Champions League, FA Cup/league cup games, however should they get a good run of home games in the cups the following year the price of the "free" games are collected upon renewal. I had customers who were regulars at Highbury with season tickets, I paid them a visit one morning to be greeted by long faces as they had just had to stump up £1200+ as Arsenal had enjoyed a good run of home games in the cups the previous season: that must have been 8 or 9 years ago!!!
