itchen Posted 2 May, 2011 Posted 2 May, 2011 If Plymouth were to go bust this week before playing their last game, all their results would be expunged. I believe Brighton would lose 6 points and we would lose 3. We'd be on 86 and they'd be on 88 going into the last game. All right. It's not going to happen and I wouldn't want it to for Plymouth's sake. Well done Saints.
stardustonmyfeet Posted 2 May, 2011 Posted 2 May, 2011 God forbid. We've been so close to going out of business ourselves and it would be a very hollow victory if we were to win the division in such circumstances.
Crab Lungs Posted 2 May, 2011 Posted 2 May, 2011 Whatever Brighton say, it doesn't matter. Our objective was automatic and we've achieved it. Yes, it'll have been nice to have been us but I am in the main delighted we've pretty much assured automatic promotion. That's what we needed ultimately, and that's what we've achieved.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 2 May, 2011 Posted 2 May, 2011 About as likely as Huddersfield overturning a 17 goal Difference! i.e no chance! Let us celebrate our achievments Most goals away Record number of points (in old or new money), away wins and clean sheets for a Saints team Highest GD and least goals conceded in league 1 this year (both these need protecting vs Warsaw on saturday) 83 goals scored (so far) 1 behind Brighton but 18 behing Peterborough! But most importantly promotion back to the championship and a large step back towards the top flight! But most importantly promotion
saints-cris Posted 2 May, 2011 Posted 2 May, 2011 Dont really care, if you offered me 2nd place at the start of the season I would have taken it. 1st or makes very little difference to me. We'll both start on the same points next season
