i spoke to a few Plymouth fans in the pub before the game and they were all thoroughly decent people who love their club and are devastated by what has happened at boardroom level (any of this sounding familiar?).... tbf i thought that the song was in very bad taste....there,but for the grace go God, go us (again!)....

'Going down was in bad taste' What did the plymouth fans expect they are going down and they are not very good now the adam stansfield song was in bad taste, big difference! They should grow up

According to the Plymouth forum, some of their fans throwing bricks is punishment for a small proportion of our fans singing, "Going Down".

Another one says that they have a new rival in us.

Sounded like the vast majority of us singing that tbf

it's called having empathy for others and displaying grace in victory .Some Saints fans could do with Googling those terms ....

apart from that,what a f**king EXCELLENT day!!!!!....:D

From my position on the halfway line I only noticed a couple of "going down" songs, which to be fair are par for the course. We've had it sung enough at us in the past. The Plymouth fans around us were more concerned with the mispronunciation of "hampshire" which they felt felt was missing an "h". They also spent a lot of time moaning at the ref.

Saints fans were brilliant. The Plymouth fans we spoke to were sound and congratulating us afterwards.

Fair play to Connolly at the end of the game for coming round and applauding all the Plymouth fans who clapped back. Nice touch.

It's funny you should say that!..I've sung that song many times over the years and it was only today that i realised just how "'ampshire ish" it sounds!!

A truly memorable day out - and a lively and fantastic atmosphere on the trains!

Horrendous to see the brick-throwing incident (I believe it hit the guy's daughter who went understandably bezerk). However, these morons are a tiny minority - we had some great conversations with Plymouth fans beforehand and like us in recent times they are going through the mill.

From Jordan Sibley on Twitter:

"Great night on the way home from Plymouth. Hold tight for some big news tomorrow"

Hmm!

Oh wow!* :)

*prepares to be disappointed with the news that Simply Red are the SMS concert of choice this summer :(

BEST WEEKEND EVAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!111!!11!one

Just a perfect day, topped off by seeing how much it meant to the players. Impossible though it seemed, they looked even more ecstatic than us!

As for Plymouth - I'm usually pretty soft-hearted in such situations (rarely if ever join in with "going down" songs and stuff like that) but I've had a few very crappy trips to Home Park, not made any better by coming across some incredibly vile locals who don't care who they start on. Watching them all dive in and start putting the boot in on that one guy (AFTER the stewards had already got hold of him and he couldn't fight back...weren't coming ahead the good twenty seconds before they arrived) didn't make me think any better of the club and its followers. So sorry, but f*ck 'em - will save my good sportsmanship for Walsall on Saturday, should they get relegated.

Good day, rather tainted by being frog marched back to the station with about 50 other decent Saints fans who were not causing, or likely to cause anyone any bother. Women, children and the elderly included, but a clear absence of our 'yoof' element. Well done devonshire police. Horrible packed train, made to wait half an hour before it set off, 4 hour trip to Reading. Definitely put a downer on the occassion for me.
