It shows the differences between the ambitions of us and P'boro.

They're after good L1 players - we've been there and done that. We're now after good championship players. Totally different playing fields, we quite clearly have a fair bit of cash.

Indeed, though despite my reservations over Baldock's ability (especially considering his price tag), Peterborough have a decent record in identifying talent. Craig Mackail-Smith, George Boyd and Aaron McLean were all plucked from non-league for example. A friend of mine remembers watching McLean play for Aldershot, said he was okay but not great. He apparently didn't get on with Terry Brown, who's now AFC Wimbledon's manager.

Who knows, he could prove me wrong, but given how much the Franchise want for him, no thanks.

UPDATE: I've just been informed he's rejected a move to Peterborough.

Was he the one that cried as the national anthem was played? Great story that.

Could be that he was distraught to find himself in the starting line up. Each chance he fails to put away results in a finger or toe being cut off.

This is just to let you know why I won't be able to read or contribute to this thread again, thanks to the mrs.

She asked "what the hell is this about?" (thankfully I was only on the Saints Forum as she looked over my shoulder....)

Me: "It's a thread about transfer speculation"

Her: "What's that when it's at home?"

Me: "Ok, can you work out what it means? Here's a quiz for you...what does HCDAJFU stand for?"

Her: "I have no f***ing idea"

Me: "Try and work it out, then..."

Her: "Is it.........How Could Davis And Jaidi F*ck Up?"

Time to make our move IMO!!

Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle has today confirmed that Anthony Pilkington looks set to leave the Club.

Hoyle told htafc.com:

"Anthony contacted Lee Clark yesterday and said he wanted to leave the Club and achieve his ambition to play at the highest level, from the start of next season. I have spoken to Anthony at length personally over the last 24 hours and tried to convince him to stay but his mind is firmly made up.

"Coming closely after the departure of Lee Peltier is doubly disappointing, but not a real surprise - I can understand his ambition. There has been a lot of speculation regarding his future especially after the Old Trafford final.

"I have told Anthony I will not stand in his way. As hard as it may be, if a Premier League club comes in for him and we get the right offer he will be allowed to leave. We will wait and see how thing develop."

Football rumours (yes' date=' I know!!) has us linked with Adam Barton of PNE. BS most probably but HCDAJFU most definitely IMO.[/quote']

You are correct Ivan Katalinic's 'tache it is BS. Heard it (nearly) first hand that Southampton have not approached him. Possibly off to another team that play in red 'n' white stripes though!

Fry -

Asked if goalkeeper Joe Lewis would be able to remain at the club the candid director of football added: “No and I won’t be able to keep hold of George Boyd either. The chairman promised both Joe and George if they helped to get us up he would listen to offers.

“Both players are very talented players as of yet we haven’t had a bid that’s acceptable but there is plenty of interest

Where will Boyd end up? Decent player.

For anyone hoping we'd replace Davis with ex-Scunny keeper Joe Murphy' date=' I see he's signed for Cov today.[/quote']

Good, I didn't rate Murphy, and for what it's worth, I don't rate Lewis, who lets in far too many soft goals

That is unfortunate, he's a good striker. Undisclosed fee though I see, I imagine they paid through the nose for his services.

up to 3.5m according to those ITK.

...with 1 year on his contract left. Great deal for P'boro.

Good signing for Brighton. But that is a lot of money.

absolutely no difference to us bidding £3.25 for sharp except Sharp has done it at a higher level!! I know we didnt get him, but it leads you to think we WILL get a pacy hotshot to fit in alongside Ricky!!! also buoyed by Lambo and Aaron signing new deals!!

I don't like your positive tone - Get off this forum ;)

According to Barry Fry on talksport, West Ham bid more, also, Brighton made a bid for him in January.

Are they idiots then? Just reject the Brighton bid. Plonkers.

I think 1M plus Puncheon for Guthrie and Kazenga Lua Lua would be a good deal for us

It would be a ridiculously good deal if it was just Guthrie but I don't see why Guthrie would be interested in playing in the Champhionship.

So Tevez wants to leave. We're closer to Argentina than Manchester.

Putting 2 and 2 together...

Nailed on for the skates...new signing Riqueleme personally requested him.

Who is going to sign Hargreaves? I'd say we have no chance but I'll be annoyed if he goes to another Championship club. Surely wherever he goes it'll be pay as you play or 1 year contract. I always like to think a player can come back from injury. If he believes he can, then he's worth a gamble for someone.

But I'd have thought half the premiership would have tried to snap him up by now.

I agree. Wouldn't surprise me if West Ham have a punt on him - They signed Kieron Dyer after all.

What makes you so sure we haven't? Don't use the internet (& certainly this forum) as a barometer for clarity. I'd take the recent transfer comments by the club with a large pinch of salt!

Having a look at Norwich's abundance of riches in the striking department, whilst Chris Martin would be the best recruit, Cody McDonald could be worth a punt too. Gillingham's p.o.t.s. in League Two, scored goals for fun.

Wouldn't mind nicking Routledge from Newcastle, Forest linked on BBC.

If Chambo goes, otherwise he'd be a bench warmer and I doubt he'd move for that.
