Leicester City have today reached an agreement with Huddersfield Town for the transfer of defender Lee Peltier for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old right-back has agreed terms on a three-year contract with the Foxes and will become City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson's first new signing of the summer, once his registration is completed on Wednesday morning.

A dynamic, attacking full-back blessed with great speed and sound defensive instincts, Peltier heads to Filbert Way after two seasons with the Terriers, with whom he reached the League 1 play-off final this past season.

very good signing indeed. Would have been very happy to see him here.

But he would welcome a move to a Championship side with ambitions and would be prepared to relocate from his Leicester home. And he has told The News he would love to work under the tutelage of Cotterill

So! he has a desire to play lower league football, and not get paid!

Just noticed Tresor Kandol has been freed by Albercete in Spain. A player with the talent to do well but with a seemingly massive attitude problem. While he CNDAJFU, he has done a job in the lower leagues before, and we could see him back on these shores soon. Related to both Lua Lua's, and according to Wiki, if true, Yannick Bolasie of Bristol City (formerly of Plymouth.)

Danns was never a realistic target after his agent confirmed at the start of June that he was looking for Champions League football!

But he can achieve that with us, we are going to be there with then next 4 years. Surely we are more attractive than Rangers FFS.

Danny Guthrie is wanted by Birmingham. I thought he looked quite promising with us, wouldn't mind him coming back.

Thoughts?

Would definitely take him - left out because of Barton, Tiote and Nolan, not because of poor form. Plays football the way NA wants - along with Morgan, would be nice to have CMs who can pass the ball. If he does leave, though, wouldn't be surprised if he stays in the prem (has played the majority of his career there).

Yep good player but wouldn't be any more than a squad player for us surely? Would offer us good backup/availability for CM and RM

A good backup? you're joking right? If he joined us, he would have the most prem experience in the squad - and is still only 24. Think he has one year left on his contract, so would also be the most expensive backup player we've ever had.

I think sometimes people vastly overate our players.

Birmingham now have Hughton who used him in his promotion winning side with Newcastle, and they're about to lose Gardner to Sunderland - plus they've already lost Larsson to the Mackems. Seems they're a bit short in midfield.

As I say, wouldn't mind him down here. Could be very useful.

Agree, though Guthrie's an interesting case - think he took a lot of people by surprise -me included- by slotting so seamlessly and swiftly into the prem after his short loan with us. Has not looked back since.

Guthrie would walk into our side. No doubt about it.

Really? Hammond seems to have some clause in his contract saying that he must play and can't be dropped just because he is captain!!

Ok, I made a massive misjudgement according to everyone on here. He would walk into our side. Happy now? :)

- Leicester have bid accepted.

- Bid turned down from West Ham

- He's rejected QPR & Norwich

I guess he wants to be sure that where ever he goes he doesn't just sit on the bench, either that or he knew a bod would come in from the Foxes and they are willing to pay more than the two Prem sides.

Think you're being a bit harsh on Hammond after all he did for us last season. Fans question player loyalty but what ever happened to giving existing players a chance at a higher level? Hammond hasn't had a game in the championship yet.

Yes Hammond would deserve a chance, but Guthrie is a better player for sure.

Why do people stress about leicester?

They're just a typical Sven team. They'll sign countless players, struggle to fit them into a team, be inconsistent, lose a few at home, get the fans on their back. Maybe they'll go up, but if they don't, Sven is sacked, quite simple. Big pressure on them and big money. Loads of half decent signings, players we might want, but none I'd be desperate for us to have, none that surprising.

It won't be plain sailing for anyone, no matter how much you spend.

Look at us at the start of last season for e.g. - I guarantee pretty much every L1 forum said we'd walk the league, the title is already decided etc. But it's not all about the individuals you sign, it's about having the most cohesive team unit - which is something we managed to find after Adkins had been here a while.

If Leicester and West Ham can gel quickly, then fair enough, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're stuttering along come November with a surprise team showing consistency in the top 2, and I'd expect it to be a team that have been together for a few seasons, not a team full of glittering individuals.

The table will probably sort it's self out come the end of the year and WHU may finish in the top 2, but it won't be as easy as many are making out.

He was alright in the championship for us, haven't seen him much at newcastle. But I also have no idea how good hammond will be next season. some players come up and really step up to the challenge, others fail. it's tough to tell. If hammond can be as effective as last season then I'll be happy with him.

Fell out of favour under Pardew.

Anyway, Adkins and Cortese are doing a better job of keeping things quiet than United. Here's their new goalkeeper David De Gea evading the blanket that was meant to conceal his entrance from photographers

Peterborough have had bid accepted by MK Dons for Sam Baldock. I think HCDAJFU. Was a constant threat against us in the 3-2 game last season and again looked threatening whenever I saw a Dons game on Sky.

We've got better options already, plus the Franchise are asking for a big fee. Peterborough are welcome to him if you ask me!

It shows the differences between the ambitions of us and P'boro.

They're after good L1 players - we've been there and done that. We're now after good championship players. Totally different playing fields, we quite clearly have a fair bit of cash.
