He's a proper centre-half, him. He'd be a really good signing for Saints. He stormed the Boscombe Player of the Year awards.

 

Wayy too expensive, must be one of those 1 mill+ players they've been stashing down there. That Eddie Mitchell, he's a shrewd one.

Giovani dos Santos scored a brace for Mexico today, did well at Ipswich and not really in thoughts of spurs?

 

He'd want absurd wages. He's on 35k a week at the moment supposedly.

 

Expect Pompey to unveil him as one of their new signings in a few weeks

I would say YES for Marlon Harewood, YES for that Ingimarsson bloke at Reading (released today) who would play alongside Fonte, YES to Jack Cork, NO to Michael Owen .... MAYBE for Lionel Messi ... :)

 

Ingimarsson was, possibly is still a great player, but spends a lot of time out injured.

Messi is absolute rubbish.

Definately, I thought he looked very good and committed in the playoff games, can play a little, loves a tackle and good in the air, what a brilliant understudy he would be for Jaidi

We've got understudies for Jaidi already. I would only be looking for players that will improve our first XI.

I would pose an arguement that Pearce has the ability to improve our first 11, but TBF I do agree with you, especially at the price that Pearce is likely to cost it would be more prudent to sign players as an improvement.

 

I was very impressed with Pearce however, thought that he looked very good.

 

Seaborne IMO isn't as bad as many people think but is still not good enough for the level we want to be at, Martin has looked good at points, but he hasn't played enough to prove himself IMO.

 

What about Evatt from Blackpool ?

Centre Back i beleive will be one of the positions we upgrade. i beleive Jaidi was given a new deal as cover as he and Fonte have an excellent relationship. Seabourne should be allowed to leave, he is a third tier player and probably Pardew's only average signing as everyone else seemed to be a success.

 

I think Pierce would be a good signing. Meite on a free is also worth thinking about.

 

Cork would be a very astute signing also, i would be very happy with that. I would love Danns as well as he can play wide right if needed....i do think Hammond may have to be a high profile casualty, he is decent but we can get better and we can't afford to be sentimental.

 

I would love Ebanks Blake up top too. We need a pacy striker and he is physical too. Rumours are that he is available for about a million, Millwall interested too

I've just read that a scout of ours has had contact with a kid called Ian Goh, a 'semi-pro footballer at ChelseaFC Soccer School (HK) / Hong Kong Football Club U-15'.

 

He tweeted an hour ago "Got in touch with some of the USA scouts :) likes of New York Red Bull,Seattle Sounders and LAGalaxy!!! Hopefully able to join 1 :)", before adding... "Also scouts from Europe!! Southampton FC, FC Mainz, Bordeux, FC Kaiserslautern!!!".

 

Just thought I'd mention it! If true, good to see this worldwide recruitment lark is in action.

Howard might well want to finish his career on his home turf, but don't make the mistake of believing that he is a supporter of either club. His heart is in Glasgow, with Rangers, believe it or not.

another couple of days I reckon. TBF we might be one of the most active teams around with bids in for everyone, but we'd never know because they act in the correct way when doing the deal.

That's a very good point. I believe Cheats FC sold Pearce to Boscombe in 2007, well before their financial problems hit big time. Why should they be allowed to continue to reap the benefit of a sell-on clause following administration?

 

(I expect somebody to now say that we benefited from a sell-on clause after going into administration ourselves - Leon Best maybe?)

Yup. Quality manager in Pearson. Signs Fryatt up front, Hobbs as centre-back, and in talks with Danns for play-maker. Nice team he's building there.

Any idea when pre-season training starts? Would be good to have any new faces in by then so everyone starts off from the same point and we can hit the ground running from the off.

 

Swiss tour started on the 10th July last season so around that time I guess. We had Richardson and Dickson by then, but Butterfield signed the week after. Guly came in on the 23rd August.

sure was, no doubt that deal (and the Richardson one) was done months before. Not so sure deals will have been done this time round as we were unsure what league we were going to be in and a few transfers probably depend on players (Gobern and Puncheon) leaving.

He just isnt a midfielder.. just coz hes tenacious doesnt mean he'll be good there, never really got why Fergie put him there. He made his name as a striker, thats where he should play tbh.

I think Antony Pulis Jr has earned a suprisingly large amount of footballing cash without a footballing brain, and he doesn't have Usain's pace to boot! :-)

 

I also think we could use Paula Radcliffe's stamina, Jonathon Edwards' ability to jump over tackles, and even Ronnie O'Sullivan's ability to put that white ball where he wants it.

The managerial situation at Wigan may be having an impact. There is absolutely zilch chance of CMS coming to Saints, we shouldn't be worrying about him.
