Very good response mate! Tonge maybe I like ball-playing CBs ;-). We need a quality GK, Kelv is a loyal good man and a decent 'keeper, yet we should be looking for better than decent IMHO. Onyewu is not good enough for AC Milan, but too good for Belguim and would relish a stag at CCC let alone another chance at the Prem. Gera is a fabulous player that needs to stop bouncing from one poor Prem situation to another and McFadden, he is just exciting and quality 'on his day'.

Ambrose should be our # 1 target.

Don't get why people want to sign Bridge. He has been poor for ages and we have 3 very good LBs on the books, not to mention Shaw, who seems to be getting rave reviews. Signing him would just be adding another very large chunk the the wage bill.

Indeed.

Let's sign Ormerod, Higginbotham and Oakley as well. It might make no sense but at least they played for Saints once.

You're all mental. I've been saying it for 2-3 years now: Gary Roberts

Hopefully some of you've been watching the Hudders/Bmouth match tonight...

and will people stop saying Wayne Bridge? He's f()cking ****e now and wouldn't be any better than Dickson/Harding. He's really, really on his way down but he's yet to be jettisoned from the Premier League yet.

Jack Cork was good for us and is no doubt a realistic target, but for people putting his name forward, what is his best position, and where might he fit in for us ?

CDAJFU's

Peter Clarke and Pilkington if Huddersfield dont go up

Pugh if Bournemouth dont

Mackaill Smith if P'Boro dont although he might go anyway

Jack Cork or Micheal Mancienne

Henri Lanzbury on loan from Arsenal

I would boo that c**t every time he touched the f*****g ball!

Centre mid in my opinion. Decent tackler, good passer, quick reactions and it seems a good work ethic. I'd love us to sign that mythical "midfield general" but sadly there aren't many around but Cork can be the closest to it.

Yes why? He's probably been the second best centre half in L1 this season, would be a good signing and a good partner for Fonte.

On another note what about a few Bournemouth players? Been impressed with Pugh, Lovell, Ings and Holland this season.

I don't really rate Ings to be honest. Nice header yesyerday but hsi first touch is poor and doesn't have any stand out attributes IMO. Compared with a Connolly, Barnard or Lambert he is nowhere near them.

Well HCDAJFU in a number of positions, but i'd prefer him in midfield, can tackle, pass, good all round player. I'd like to see us be able to play 4-2-3-1 with Cork and Schniderlin as the 2 - Chamberlain, Gully, Lallana as the 3 and Lambert as the 1. This may change though depending on new signings, like CMS!

The only Bournemouth player I'd been tempted to take a punt on is the centre back Pearce.

I'll prob live to regret this but... I don't think anyone else in their squad has the ability to make the step up to the championship.

Craig Makail-Smith, Pilkington, Cork, Craig Dawson, and a decent keeper who commands his area, can kick rolling balls, and can distribute quickly (to a speedy little winger for example) would be my wish list.

Others who would be good include Wes Newton, maybe Matthew Mills, Danny Graham. The best bit about being in The Championship now is that it opens up many more options especially in terms of Premier loans of which I'm sure we will have one or two.

Danny Ings would be a great signing for the future, strikers are always overpriced and a good 19 year old like Ings could be developed and sold on for a much bigger fee than B-muff would take from us. They'd probably demand a hell of a sell on though like with Lallana.

Ings might be worth buying and loaning back to B muff. I think Pearce is a pretty good centre back and worth considering also, he is certainly better than Seabourne who is not good enough IMO.

Pearce/ Danns/ Cork/ CMS/ Jennings would be quality additions

Seabourne, Mills, should be sold

Gobern, Martin and Forte all loaned out

Ings was turned down on more than one ocassion by Saints, so I'm not sure playing 20 or so professional games will change our coaches' mind.

Brighton started their signings today with Hoskins

that's alright we've already got a striker called Hoskins - Sam Hoskins from the youth team - there just playing catch-up!

anyway Sam's the way to go as we are supposedly interested in Sam Baldock at MK Dons

Terrifying.

We'll have Alpine's list of all the crap players everyone has signed soon, asking why we haven't gone in for them all.

Hoskins is a decent player - 20 goals for a team that got relegated and NPC experience.

They weren't as good as Bridge.

He's lost form after being a sub at Man City, then playing for an appalling west ham side under terrible management. How many underperforming west ham players would we want? I'm guessing there's quite a few.

Also, I believe some players would just find better form at Saints. Bridge and Beattie are perfect examples of this, IMO. Some players fit certain clubs. It's an easier league, they'd have the fans on their side, and desperately want to do well. Maybe there are better and cheaper options, but both would add something.

So that'd be Bridge, Harding, Dickson, Mills, Reeves and Shaw... why on earth would we need another left back? And with that, an expensive one?

Whilst I do subscribe that some players do perform better at some clubs, Bridge is completely damaged now and on his way down at a rapid rate. Man City will be delighted if they can fob him off to someone else in the summer.

Perhaps we're the club who put the bid in for Danny Graham?

As MLG said, it was QPR that put the bid in. They put a bid of £2.5m in earlier, willing to go up to £3.5m.

i will be amazed if we pay over £2m for a single player in the summer.....

graham is a great striker at this level though...

If CMS joins Watford over Norwich or Saints he is a massive div!

- Watford are apparently the club he and his family support.

- Norwich in the Premier League.

I would question why he would choose Watford over Saints for football reasons, but not Norwich in the top flight.

Mmm,Nathan Tyson anyone.

Would happily have taken him last year as our "pace option" but now we have Forte I can't see the point. He's lightning quick but he's pretty rough round the edges. We should he looking to sign someone better than that who can compete with Guly and Connolly on ability. That's not Tyson!

Total headless chicken. All the pace you could want but does absolutely **** all with it. Forte looks a better player to me.

Too true. He looked a good prospect a few years ago when in League one but has not developed at all.
