eurosaint Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 Madjid Bougherra has said that he is leaving Rangers in the summer ! He is strong and pacy at either CB or holding in midfield ! Could be brilliant alongside Fonte although I suppose he'll have his mind set on the premiership (bestways the lower end !). Worth considering Nige ?? jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 If Reading dont get promoted they have a couple of decent players such as Jobi McAnuff and Robson-Kanu that could become available at the right price. In the case of McAnuff he is slightly inconsistent but then again a lot of wingers are. However on his day very good and would be good competition for Lallana and AOC. Chez Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 Yakubu 28 years old. CCC - this season, 19 appearances, 11 goals and 5 assists/ ever thought that perhaps he should have scored 20 given the chances that came his way? We don't want a stand around waiting for a chance to drop his way kind of striker, we need a busy, speedy, good touch, will finish kind of guy to compliment Ricky. Conelly with pace if you will. for_heaven's_Saint Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 Yakubu 28 years old. CCC - this season, 19 appearances, 11 goals and 5 assists/ Is really only 28?! Surprised at that. Then again, Kanu says he's 34 when he is probably closer to 54.

Robson-Kanu is a good shout for a young winger, he's got a lot of potential. He can play on either wing and also up front if he needs to. Would be a very handy player to have. Now if Murray was to go to Southampton, you would think they would have a surplus of strikers on the books....I also heard sometime ago, that Mr Poyet was very keen on Lambert and that was a long time before we plyed them at withdean, when Gus was singing his praises after the game. Now I dont think Lambert has had a great season at all, but pound for pound, I think he is a better player than Murray....Dont be surprised if Lambert is wearing the blue and white strips in August, in Murray's shirt and if that was the case, I for one think that makes the team better in that position and a lot more muscular, which will be needed in championship as well." Erm..? Murray is a much better player than Lambert, don't see how he would fit into the way Poyet wants to play really, though we could do worse if Murray goes. Seems a bit unlikely though. Crab Lungs Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 kevtherev I do think Murray is a better footballer than Lambert. Murray is good at Lambert's main strengths, but also is a natural footballer and (unlike his shy awkward off-pitch personality) a great team player. More roflcopters. Crab Lungs Posted 16 May, 2011 Share Posted 16 May, 2011 (edited) I thought Lambert was just a big lump of lard though? That's the brilliance of NSC. They change like the wind. They really wanted to beat us at the Withdean and were going to smash us... but, according to them, it turns out that they had nothing to play for and they "didn't care" about the result anyway. Then they'd say something like "Glenn Murray has been the best player in L1 this year" .... and now he's "not even that good anyway" and it was all down to Elliott Bennett's brilliance. Oh, and he looks like a serial killer etc etc, Murray hates the fans etc etc.. Absolute mongs. Edited 16 May, 2011 by Crab Lungs

Would be very underwhelmed if true He is a good player who can hold up the ball and link well but he is not what we need. We are in desperate need of a Simeon Jackson style player who can use his pace to get in behind and FINISH the ball. Forte can use his pace but he's had a couple of 1 on 1's and not looked confident. If Lambert were to get injured early on, then act and get a loan in or an ideal replacement then but for now, it is not a role IMO thst we should be focusing our attention on. Palsson on the other hand, would be a brilliant addition (according to reports) and in a position we need - a commanding /midfielder centre back. Ideal Jaidi replacement.
