Neither. Buy an iPhone 4 and a laptop.

 

If you must get one though, the Apps store alone must seal it for the iPad

hmm.

 

not a laptop replacement. not overly fussed by the apps market - mostly going to be using for work (so office compatibility is a must) and something i can use on the go for media (of various types).

 

the lack of flash on apple is a big drawback...

I would go for the Asus EeePad Transformer TF101 (though not released to the end of this month) with its docking station so you can use it either like a netbook or as a tablet.
