Stay off the pitch

Would be interesting to see if a pitch invasion still happens after it's mentioned over the tannoy that points could be deducted. Would show up the fans that dont really care about the club and just want to cause trouble.

I really hope the guy on the tannoy doesn't repeat it over and over and over again like last season too!! I remember when everyone in the stadium started shouting to drown him out lol

That was some of the loudest noise i've heard inside St Marys tbh, almost everyone in the stadium whistling to drown him out.

what a miserable lot! pitch invasions are mostly harmless, clubs have been doing them all season !

and at the end of every season for as long as i have been alive, especially when there is something to celebrate like promotion or staying up. not us though. We cant do this, it's against the law and we have to be deadly serious at all times, football is completely serious business.

As has been said already. If we win on Monday, Plymouth are relegated. Leave the pitch invasion until the Walsall game. I don't think the Plymouth fans will see it as 'fun', considering the sh*t they have been through this season, being on the brink of existence and being relegated to L2.

The Plymouth fans did'nt seem to mind when Newcastle did it last season!

I was there! They played we are the champions! I don't think the fans liked that bit but imagine if they did it at SMS there'd be a riot!

... by us.

They love to hate us in the same way Brighton do. And they've never forgiven us for poaching Sturrock. If there is a pitch invasion there I think it could turn nasty.

However for the Wallsall game so long as it's good natured (not like Derby fans in the play-offs) then i'm in favour of scenes of jubilation.

This.

Anyone who thinks we will get points deducted is deluded.

Last year Plymouth were being relegated to League 1 which isnt as bad as relegation to League 2. They are also very close to going out of business and with relegation and the worry about the clubs future and of course the fact they are one of those clubs who try to hate us, I think a pitch invasion would turn nasty! Its very different to Newcastle as that was promotion to the prem and the two clubs have no link.

Walsall invaded their pitch yesterday. Im not even sure why! They're far from safe.. Get on the pitch just dont act like mongs towards their players.

Similar to when we were at Gillingham last year, they ran on the pitch celebrating that they had stayed up, running towards the Saints fans giving it the big one.

It all went a bit quiet when Tranmere scored late to beat Millwall.

LOL.

If people are thinking (rightly or wrongly) of invading the pitch make sure it's after the final whistle to ensure there is no chance of points deduction

I've no problem with pitch invasions at SMS, if there's something to celebrate you should (especially towards the Itchen / Directors box). Celebrating at the away fans (a la Derby at the playoff semi) is moronic and I'd put celebrating at a team's stadium who've just been relegated would be equally classless.

Imagine if someone had done it to us on our fall from grace, there would have been outrage on here - most likely by the same who are suggesting that an invasion is appropriate. Which makes those that are suggesting going on the pitch not only morons, but hypocrites too.

I feel that any pitch invasion should be avoided until the final game St Marys. When we win tomorrow, yes, we have earned promotion but at the same time condemned Plymouth to relegation. Without the good fortune of Markus saving our club, that could have so easily been us disappearing to league 2. Have a bit of class, sing and chant and cheer but stay off the pitch, and spare a thought for their fans, it could've been us!

if people invade the pitch at plymouth then imo they are idiots because we aren't officially promoted yet.

I like the Billy Big Bo11ox "I am on the pitch either at Home Park or SMS, sod the rules" on here. As it is criminal offence Hampshire Constabulary could very easily get who you are and where you live from the "owners" of this website, and next Saturday in particular you could be requested to present yourself to a police station at 3pm, or worse still 4:30pm.

I agree. We might lose 8-0 and Huddersfield could win 8-0. Stranger things have happened. We wouldn't want to tempt fate.

Have we ever had visiting fans invade St Mary's?

Can think of the odd occasion (well, quite a few...) where the opposing team has won in the last minute and had a few fans run on the pitch. Can't remember any teams staying up or going up at SMS though.

Just do it right tonight. Even though a win tonight all but guarantees promotion, don't invade the pitch:

1) Plymouth will have just been relegated

2) Technically we aren't even promoted (a formality I know, but this is Saints after all)

It's no wonder we get all the arrogant chat, so let's just be a bit classy about things if we get the win and save the invasion for SMS

Pitch invasion on Saturday, then?

50/50.

The game is no longer pivotal so a spontaneous rush of adrenalin isn't gonna happen. That said if a lot of people are wasted you never know.
