Plymouth build up thread

Well who would draw at home to Brentford, let alone lose to them!! Stanger things have happened, they drew at home to Swindon not so long ago, and we drew at home to Notts County. I agree that it is unlikely, but it could happen.

They drew against Swindon fighting for their lives, our draw against Notts Co was back in January when every team still had everything to play for. The bees have injuries and nothing to play for. There wont be an easier gig in the football league than Brentford at home on Saturday.

I thought we would probably crunch a draw at the 'Bees' but we had a joy ride. Against Plymouth tomorrow I have no worries. We will beat them, not by a lot as an ex-Saints Manager is now in charge (he didn't do very well with us though did he?) 2 - 0 for Saints is what I've got a bet on so the lads will make me (and them) winners tomorrow. COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!!!!!!

I think we should just play our game of keep ball, make them work hard and if we don't score early on hopefully they will tire and we can then hope to take advantage, fingers crossed for this but I do feel we will win its just so important that it gets scary.

Does anyone know the condition of Plymouth player? (injurys)

We shouldn't need to worry about their injuries, none of them are all that much good anyway, think they've already sold any player of any use to man or beast.

However they will be motivated, shouldn't have any problem beating them though.

Peter Reid never managed us but did pretty well in his six or so games with us IIRC.

I think we have to go for it like in the Brentford game. Give Plymouth no encouragement or it will become a tough game. We play best when attacking teams.

We ALWAYS have a spell in games where we give the opposition more encouragement than we should :-)

I think that this will all be over within twenty minutes of kick off tomorrow. As soon as we take the lead Plymouth will have to try and score two which simply won't happen! I think it will be a relatively straight forward 3-0 victory and promotion. Yes, my glass is positively full to the brim! I don't go with all this "saints always do it the hard way" rubbish. We are the second best team in the league (1st in form) and we are playing a poor team who have sold any player who was worth anything. Simples. Just chill out and enjoy the day.

I wish I could really believe this but I do agree if we score the 1st goal it could kill them off.

I really believe that would be anti-percentage. Playing 2 games in 3 days on a hot day can easily leave a player drained. They have to win this one and unless we do anything stupid like burning ourselves out in the first 30 minutes the game should be ours. We need to keep the ball and pass it and if we can't do that against Plymouth with all their problems, we don't deserve to win the game anyway. I expect Adkins to put as many fresh legs out there as possible without weakening the side. Although Plymouth played early on Saturday, they will not be stuck on coaches for a further 6-8 hours.

Bored on a Sunday Afternoon Stat Attack

If we beat Plymouth and Walsall, then Rochdale will be the only team we didn't beat this season.

We've improved against 11 teams in the 'second leg' this season:

Lost then won: Dons, Swindon, Udders, Carlisle, Brentford

Drew then won Brighton, Yeovil, Orient, Hartlepool, Colchester, Charlton

Lost then drew -

We've been worse in the 'second leg' against just 3 teams:

Won then lost Tranny

Won then drew Notts Co, Posh

Drew then lost -

Same result against 7 teams:

Two wins Bompey, Brizzle, Daggers, Exeter, Wednesday, Oldham

Two Draws -

Two Defeats Rochdale

Is it? What if Huddersfield draw with Brentford and Saints lose to Walsall? A draw with Plymouth then would be of a lot of use to Saints.

Huddersfield will beat Brentford, just as I said they would beat Brighton BEFORE we did.

We proved yesterday that if we start well (which we dont normally do!) we can make it reaaally easy for ourselves. With all respect to Plymouth and Walsall (if is not done by then), if we get out the blocks early i dont think they'll be able to handle us in the form were in, and the confidence we have right now. Start well and it should be our day.

Arse, my shift's been changed at work and now I'll be working through most of the game. I apologise to any customers in advance for my poor customer service, I'll be busy refreshing Twitter for the updates! (And SWF if it doesn't crash... :-))

Don't know about everyone else but Saints is all that is going through my mind at the moment (even more than usual), can't stop thinking about tomorrow's game.

Come on lads, don't let us down.

Yeh, same with me. Went to sleep thinking about winning at Plymouth, woke up thinking about the game too.

I just want it to be 15:00 tomorrow already!

Don't want us having to win on the last day, please get a win at Plymouth lads. Lallana hattrick please.

What is clear is that a point is no use to either team on Monday. After today Walsall will need to come to us next weekend needing to win to be sure of staying up. This will suit us in both games.

Nice theory but in my view what you really don't want to be facing at this stage of the season are two teams fighting for their lives. I'm expecting nothing but a bloody hard fight from both Plymouth and Walsall.

Barbican is about 40 minute walk. match ticket gives u a 10% cab discount if u go with tower cabs - their number's on the back of the ticket. A lot of closer pubs that are closer but Home Park is at the far end of an enormous park so most places are going to be a 15 minute walk. My advice would be to walk from the station to mutley plain for a few then 15 min ish walk to the stadium probably. Used to live down that way a few years back - quite studenty but plenty of boozers inc a weatherspoons. The barbican is the other side of town completely so taxi's would be best then.
