Anyone going down on the train? A late change of plans means I'm either going by train or driving. Anyone looking for an extra person to make up a groupsave?

I think I am paying £40 return from Southampton for me & my nipper through SWT website (leaving Soton at 0750ish, Plymouth at 1150). But that was with a family railcard.

Paying £24 as part 4 for 2 group save and £1 for nipper! Leaving central at 7:30ish. change at Salisbury and Exeter.

Beware most trains on monday from Exeter to Plymouth and return are Cross Country who do not accept Group 4 tickets

Also cheapest way to travel without Group 4 is get return to Axminster £22.10 from Salisbury; then Return Axminster to Exeter £9.20, then Return Exeter to Plymouth which is £7.90 per adult = £39.20 if you have a Network Card you'll get 1/3rd off fares down to Exeter so would be £28.77

cheapest fare online currently £50 return

I am paying £43 with a railcard from Woking return via Salisbury and change at Exeter Central. Bit tight as the only train I can get back is the 6pm. I assume lots of Saints fans will get on at Salisbury. My train arrives at Salisbury at at 9.45 from London

Yep, me and Mrs Neil. We bought a split ticket, that is a day return to Exeter from Central and a day return from Exeter to Plymouth. Came to less than 40 squidlies each.

As I didn't get Brentford tickets me and Mrs Kirkup going down Saturday from Bracknell via Reading, coming back Tuesday. £72 each - cheaper than 2 tanks of petrol.

A recommendation for those who have used thetrainline.com - don't!

Use one of the train operators' websites, it doesn't even have to be one of the operators who are running the trains you're planning on using, but you won't get charged a card handling fee and you'll get exactly the same fares - they use the same data.

I'm going from Hungerford, need to change at Reading, five hour journey time (probably a long wait at Reading), return ticket was £44 in advance but hopefully it will be worth it.

I use thetrainline.com a lot. Absolutely superb to me, and when I look at other websites, they generally are more expensive by a considerable amount. I THINK you can just pay and pick them up from the machine at the station..thats what I normally do !
