VectisSaint Posted 26 April, 2011 Share Posted 26 April, 2011 Swindon, we stole Walcott from them. Nope, they were actually chuffed that Lowe sent them payment that they didn't even know they were owed without waiting for the League to order the payment. Most Swindon supporters never even knew Walcott was on their books. They may have been more upset that Ted stole Mick Channon from them though, allegedly signing him illegally on a Sunday in order to beat them to it. Jimmy_D Posted 26 April, 2011 Share Posted 26 April, 2011 (edited) Newcastle... that 3-3 has already been mentioned. Don't forget we had nothing to play for that day and Blayney kept out a point blank header from Shearer with a miracle save that day... That game had no right to be as good as it was Also Dellhurst Park... speaks for itself. Liverpool: 'Not even Saints fear to tread in Anfield anymore' when we beat them on Sky... that was the start of their decline. Leeds: it was our game that all but relegated them to league one (technically not mathematically tho). Edited 26 April, 2011 by Jimmy_D

Dr Who? Posted 26 April, 2011 Share Posted 26 April, 2011 Man City - Beating them at Maine Road last game there Spurs - We thought we were a bigger and better club than them back in the early 2000's - Lowe mouthing off, getting Hoddle sacked gloat gloat gloat Liverpool - 0-3 down with 15 left to 3-3 Bolton - Barry Horne 94th minute! Newcastle - Always beat them at the Dell and could not work out why!! Another great comeback game with minutes left at the Dell. Sunderland - Won 0-1 in a relegation battle in their last floodlite game at Roker Park Wolves - 0-6 lol Nottingham Forest - In their relegation season we had a 6 pointer and we were 1-0 down, they had a goal ruled out for no real reason and super micky evans I think got a brace and we won 1-3 and pretty much turned our season on it's head. Leicester - Matty's first hat-trick, at the Dell Watford - FA Cup Semi Final heartbreak! Pompey - Weirdos Coventry - Did not like it when they got relegated from top flight and Little Southampton where the 'small club' staying up against all odds. Crystal Palace - Last minute leveller that really put a stop on them staying up in the season we both dropped through the trap door! It still hurts them badly! Sheffield United - We drew at West Ham and stayed up on the last day, they let in a late goal at Chelsea. We meet around London for the rest of the evening!! Scun-thrope - nicked their manager they debate if we are a bigger club than them!! lol Brighton - They think they are the bigger club Hmmm, but acted small time should have just let the title do the talking! Huddersfield - We are holding onto the 2nd spot even though they have gone on the best unbeaten run in their clubs history!! Bournemouth - Think they are our big rivals now?? MK Dons - Well I ****ing hate them ******s more than I can say! Rochdale - They love us lol, but also hate us because we are a big club, and they really wish they were us. Exeter - South coast thing Charlton SOme railway station thing! Hartlepool - Cannot beat us at our place! Yeovil - Some South Coast thing! Notts County - pinched Blackstock and Best Walsall - Relegated them 2011. Dagenham and Redbridge - Stole their style of play! Bristol Rovers - stole Lambert for a mill Plymouth - Some South Coast thing Accrington Stanley - Who are they? Torquay - Some south coast thing (I like them) Aldershot - One team in Hampshire Northampton - Stuart Gray or was it Wigley!! Stockport County Hated us for about a week when we levelled in the quarter final of the league cup that their place only to **** it up at home. After going through the list I do not think many hate us, and if they do it is because we are the bigger club in our league, so everyone wants to beat us and hates us. As soon as we are out of the way they will all soon forget. I think you lot smoke to much weed....EVERYONE HATES US!!! lol.

I have nothing against people that support them other than the fact that they don't know anything about football as evidenced by the fact that the follow such a boring non entity of a small club in Hampshire. Actually, in the 80's and 90's we were a lot of peoples "Second team" or at least there was a lot of goodwill towards us. From the 80's playing some lovely football and nearly pipping liverpool, to signing Keegan and latterly, for being plucky old Saints who always beat manure or at least one of the big guns. Supersubpuckett Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 We're a club that I think most other fans/clubs either don't mind too much or feel pretty nuetral about - we're hardly in the league of leeds or millwall for universal hatred! Aside from pompey and one or two other questionably local sides I don't get the impression we're hated. I've read a few times on other clubs forums that they enjoy our visits as we bring a good number and are vocal. Anyone supporting title chasing prem sides in the 90s would have loved us for the spankings we dished out to man u. But this sort of thread once again backs up the view that we're arrogant and have an inflated view of ourselves.
Pat from Poole Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 Stockport probably hate us for taking Dave Jones from them, plus Paul Jones, though at a stroke this was almost wholly offset by us paying them money for Lee Todd.
Prince Jazzbo Posted 27 April, 2011 Share Posted 27 April, 2011 To be honest I'm not sure if 95% of teams really care about us. There's possibly a bit of ramping up the ante a bit with teams that have been challenging us for promotion, but that about it. Apart from that, most people I speak to across the country just talk about football. Even with this Spurs thing that we created a few years ago, most of my extended family are Spurs fans and they didn't even know it existed. To some degree I think we acted a bit like Bournemouth and Brighton have with us this season. Mainly because we didn't have rivals in our own league at that time. Don't forget we had nothing to play for that day and Blayney kept out a point blank header from Shearer with a miracle save that day... I live in Newcastle, and they did sort of hate us - but always with a respect. They always judged it as they choked - (the 3-1 ---- 86, 89, 90 min comeback - the 2-2 --- 88, 90 min comeback) or "Eeee that Le Tissier, hees a good player like..." (the 2-1 Sky game, the 2-1 & 1-0s @ St James) even when Le Tiss scored the last goal at The Dell v Arsenal - it was Newcastle he deprieved of a top 10 finish! He was always seen as Newcastle's Bete Noire - but I can tell you that his humour and knowledge on SS mean he's quite well liked in Geordieland. The El Khallej challenge that took Dyer out the World Cup was a low point, but the 1-1 and 3-3 games @ St Marys were such great games of Football.
