exit2 Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 (edited) I'm sorry to say that I have just heard that Jack White a big Saints Fan has passed away. Many of you will remember Jack as the white haired car park bloke the denied Kevin Keegan parking at the Dell, while he was working for sky and also for the funny pic that was in the Daily Sport of Jack stood outside the gates at the dell with 2 topless models. Even after he stopped working for the club he was always at the homes games and loved it So RIP Jack Edited 26 April, 2011 by exit2
Gator Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 RIP Jack. Hopefully you have the best seat to see us secure promotion and beyond!
Minty Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 Some of the best stories from The Dell came about because of Jack and his devotion to duty at the car park gates. He was one of those characters that everyone knew and as Rob said, loved Saints his whole life. Maybe Him Upstairs will let you do the same job on the Pearly Gates Jack?! RIP Jack.
70's Mike Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 Always prepared to stop and have a chat, sad loss
Golden Balls Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 He shouted at me once for driving too fast. RIP
Dellman Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 If he's on the Pearly Gates who would you like him to keep out? My choice..'Arry.
Viking Warrior Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 RIP Jack One of the characters at the club over the years
Cricketphilly Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 R I P Jack, you were one of the great memories of the Dell
The Cat Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 A lovely gentleman, he was my friend's Grandad. It's so sad when people associated with the club in any capacity pass away. RIP Jack.
Daren W Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 I wonder if St Peter doesn't recognise him and sends him back?
hasper57saint Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 RIP Jack. Always had a smile - except for Keegan!
Patrick Bateman Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 Sad news, a real character! He shouted at me for driving too fast in to the car park in about 1998
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 I think all of us got told off by him at some point or another - He was a great bloke, always had time for a quick word and will be greatly missed. RIP Jack
krissyboy31 Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 We used to call him the judge due to his silver hair, which was styled like a Judges wig. Any ideas how old he was? Always seemed to be getting on a bit even back in the eighties. Anyway, RIP Jack.
revolution saint Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 I liked a lot of his earlier stuff but got a bit bored of the later output. White Blood Cells is still a good album though..... Seriously though, RIP Jack White.
Wilko Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 One of my earliest memories of watching Saints is pulling up at the gates of The Dell and Jack making sure we parked in the right space while my Grandpa picked up the tickets. He was quite a character.
SaintSparky Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 Very sad, condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP Jack.
Badger Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 He "jobsworthed " me in the car park before a game once when I parked to collect tickets. The memory of that made it all the more amusing when I heard the story of KK. As others have said, a character, and a part of the clubs recent folklore at The Dell. RIP.
PokingFun Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 RIP Jack, I very much hope the current Saints boys will do you proud over the next three games and get promotion in your memory along with other Saints fans that have sadly passed during the season. All the best to Jack's family.
dune Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 I remember him from the Dell. He reminded me of Blakey from on the buses. A proper character who never seemed to age as I can ever remember him looking young. RIP Jack.
Noodles34 Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 strange, sure I saw him walking in Chandlers Ford just a few days ago, remember seeing him and thinking "theres that old guy that used to run The Dell car park, still going then!"
Saint137 Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 Proud to say I've been turned away from the Dell car park by him, likely to be the only thing I have in common with KK
ecuk268 Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 Remember going to The Dell early one morning to get some Cup tickets. For some reason, although the car park was virtually deserted, he directed me to "the 3rd space from the end in the 2nd row". One of The Dell's true characters.
dune Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 Jack deserves a minutes silence/applause IMO. He might not have been a player/manager/director or anything like that, but he was a character and a loyal servant just like Ted Bates and I think it'd be appropriate. I'd love to see a statue of him in the car park too. Would bring a smile to many a face.
Dark Munster Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 If he's on the Pearly Gates who would you like him to keep out? My choice..'Arry. Seconded. Assuming 'Arry gets as far as the gates.
Redondo Saint Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 He "jobsworthed " me in the car park before a game once when I parked to collect tickets. The memory of that made it all the more amusing when I heard the story of KK. As others have said, a character, and a part of the clubs recent folklore at The Dell. RIP. Ditto! Another character gone.
Poshie72 Posted 27 April, 2011 Posted 27 April, 2011 RIP Jack Another part of 'The Dell' gone, however will not be forgotten due to the infamous KK incident.
