saintbag Posted 25 April, 2011 Posted 25 April, 2011 Sholing FC today failed to win the Zamareto division one South and West title despite a 3-1 win at Wimborne. They now have to play off in the play off semi finals on Thursday night at their Portsmouth Road stronghold. The league has been won by Totton (who play in blue) but we need to get behind the red and white stripes of Sholing to ensure Southampton is well represented in the Zamareto premier. Next stop the conference. Show your Saints season ticket at the turnstyle you might get a discount.
Red and White Russ Posted 25 April, 2011 Posted 25 April, 2011 I was bought up in Sholing, so I suppose they are my second team. Still have fond memories of playing at their old ground a couple of times.
Mattio Posted 25 April, 2011 Posted 25 April, 2011 I know a couple of their players, good luck to em! They don't get anywhere near as much coverage in the echo as Totton
saintsforlife7 Posted 25 April, 2011 Posted 25 April, 2011 Glad to see Totton win the league, nice new ground for a new division, things are looking good there, and should make a decent sum should Gosney and his team mate move into the professional leagues this summer too!

doddisalegend Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 I thought Southampton's other team were Swayt.... sorry Eastleigh?
Master Bates Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 Sholing have been my second team for ages, even when they were VTFC, i'm literally a 5min walk from the ground. Fair play to Totton though, Sholing had an amazing start and went 9/12 pts clear at the top. Bring on Thatcham I say.
saint.tom.clancy Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 I’ll definitely be there, gutted to see them miss out on automatic, thought totton were going to completely bottle it, they should have had it wrapped up a few games ago. Would be nice to see a big crowd for the play off, and you do definitely get discount if you show your season ticket at the turnstile.
Jimmy_D Posted 26 April, 2011 Posted 26 April, 2011 (edited) If Sholing do get promoted, they'll be one of the teams you can use for the Football Manager dafuge's challenge... (Go on holiday for a year, and start on automatic reputation with one of the teams promoted to the Blue Square North/South) You used to be able to save just before the promoted teams were decided at the end of the season, and keep reloading, not sure if that still applies. saintbag Posted 28 April, 2011 Author Posted 28 April, 2011 Its tonight ! Hopefully some of you might come. Thatcham are bringing a coach load down (could be a minibus).
Colinjb Posted 28 April, 2011 Posted 28 April, 2011 (edited) All the best to Sholing, come on you reds! Shame it's a bit of a journey from Coventry. Edited 28 April, 2011 by Colinjb
krissyboy31 Posted 28 April, 2011 Posted 28 April, 2011 Sholing won 2-0. Now play Frome in the final. Salisbury also won their play-off semi and play Hednesford.
theyin Posted 29 April, 2011 Posted 29 April, 2011 A job well done by the lads at Sholing this season, Hampshire Seniors Cup Final against Totton soon as well at SMS. MAY 25th 7.30
saintbag Posted 29 April, 2011 Author Posted 29 April, 2011 Great atmosphere at the game last night and a healthy noisy crowd. Sholing are playing Frome on Monday at P****muff Rd at 3. Frome are bringing 3 coachloads down according to their website. Entry is £8, £2 for 12 to 16's and free for under 12's. The club last night also gave a £2 discount to those producing their Saints season tickets so hopefully this will continue Monday.

Jimmy_D Posted 29 April, 2011 Posted 29 April, 2011 Saints are playing at the same time... this could turn into a massive double promotion party
SimonC Posted 30 April, 2011 Posted 30 April, 2011 Poole Town are coming. Will be overtaking these small fry in the next couple of seasons.
