Sheaf Saint Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 ... to incur so much hatred and vitriol from the Brighton fans and manager?
Dazza82 Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 We can still win the league. Can they keep up with us.
Nexstar Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 When we played them at home, back in November, Solent asked if Brighton would be our main challengers for the title come the end of the season (they were top at the time), his response? "If they can keep up with us"
Deppo Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 And for those 6 words, BaHA wanted him hanged, drawn and quartered.
Dazza82 Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 And for those 6 words, BaHA wanted him hanged, drawn and quartered. Well you could understand that as our bus is much quicker
Saint-Armstrong Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 This: They've even posted it on their boards, for people who say we care about them too much, there are a lot of articles about our players, managers, fans and even our city. You've gotta laugh, bless 'em.
sir woody Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 Who cares, they lost yesterday and should accept that they havent beaten us all season.
hypochondriac Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 I'm struggling to think of anything else bar that comment?

aintforever Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 It's a pretty harmless throwaway comment. There must be some history between Brighton and Adkins before that. If not they have a seriously big chip on their shoulder.
Midfield_General Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 There's also apparently something about a game we had (possibly with Spurs?) back in the day when we played out a draw, and both teams got promoted as result, at Brighton's expense. It was in 1978 or something. You'd think they'd possibly be over it by now, but it seems they still hate us for that as well.
Barry the Badger Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 I went to uni down there and was there when we got relegated. The idiot Brighton fans at the pub taking the ****, gloating and generally loving it really surprised me as until then I quite liked them as a club and wasn't expecting that.

We needed 1 point on the last day to be absolutely sure of promotion as did spurs.we drew 0-0 Although we did hit the post, which is clever if you are happy with a draw.
Fan The Flames Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 When you consider what was comment zero then Gus Poyet, the Brighton fans and the board have been acting like a bunch of ***ts ever since.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 Rearrange the letters and you will see why Brighton are so angry

If they are such 'memory hogs' they would remember that they got suitable revenge about two seasons later. Brighton and Hove Albion by then in the 'old' First Division played Saints at the Dell on a Tuesday night. If Saints won they would go top of the First Division table for the first time in the club's history. Result Brighton won 2-0. I think that must have been pretty sweet.....or maybe my memory is not quite so selective.
