Thedelldays Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 just love reading their board....trying to pass off the defeat in that it meant nothing and the players did not really try... nothing....o rly..? not getting all worked up for days/weeks before the match, getting all agressive before/during the match..keep telling us they are champions (of division 3) putting their best possible 11 out...their managers sour grapes after the game in his reaction yeah, meant nothing will have a little chuckle next season if they really struggle

saints-cris Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 Some of them simply refuse to admit we were better than them. Oldham, DnR, P'boro, Charlton were all better than us a the Withdean this season apparently. I could understand if they had lost a few, but were the only team to have won there, surely that says enough.
Secret Site Agent Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 No matter what they say No matter what they do No matter wether they are the champions of League 1 When it came down to it we beat them, at the home of their football, in front of their fans. And they have never beaten us. It is normally customary in these things that, when a neutral is asked who is the better team, it would be the team who won in the head to head encounter. Simple as that.

gary r Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 Could somebody who is registered on their board (I can't be arsed) point out that we take more to Hartlepool on a mid-week winter evening..or that today's away showing is probably the smallest we've had all season... Ta. given half the chance we could have filled the stadiu with awat support , could they fill ours

Funniest quotes: Saints fan: "What a pathetic bunch of individuals some of you are." Brighton fan: "You would do just the same if it were Pompey in your position and you were already Champions, so don't tell us how 'pathetic' we are." They hate us as much as we hate Pompey apparently Bless 'em "[saints] have been classless" Yes Brighton. You had your programme, pre-match music, PA, banners and chants all aimed at gloating about your title win, but we're the "classless" ones
Deppo Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 The hypocrisy on that board is incredible. Comments of "we don't care about you" after the programme, tannoy announcer, banners in the stadium, pre-match music, Poyet's comments and countless threads on that board is actually an astounding piece of blindness. Thedelldays Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 I think most of their fans are probably more obsessed with us than we are with them. I don't mind Southampton as a club, even though they have a wally for a manager and a few of their fans have ideas above their station. Then again, all clubs have fans like that. Most Saints fans are confusing club rivalry with promotion rivalry in my opinion, although the hilarious atmosphere yesterday won't have done anything to relieve the tension! probably the funniest quote about us... Crab Lungs Posted 24 April, 2011 Author Share Posted 24 April, 2011 I've never, ever encountered such a huge concentration of stupidity, ever - and that includes Portsmouth fans. I hope the Amex gets hit by a meteor and they have to groundshare with Gillingham again.
Thedelldays Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 the reactions of not just the fans, but the personnel from both Brighton AND Bournemouth has made me realise that we are lucky that pompey never went out of business...thank god our eternal rivals are still around for us to genuinely dislike (and they to us) rather than put of with that crap from those two tinpot outfits more often in the future. all hail pompey

RobM Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 The one thing we have in common with them, as fans, is we're all sat behind our keyboards saying bad things about another teams fans. I'm not sure that makes any of us winners.

Ohio Saint Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?199759-Southampton-VERY-impressive To summarise, were not very good. I read that thread last night. To be honest, I thought it was a pretty decent one with a good number of objective comments. The mongs were keeping a lower profile in that thread. This forum rarely has a thread as reasonable as this one, whomever the opposition is.
Smirking_Saint Posted 24 April, 2011 Share Posted 24 April, 2011 I am starting to really dislike them, earlier in the week (before yesterday) I considered popping on and congratulating them on their season but their chip is getting so massive on thier shoulders these days. Poyet is clearly a great manager, but IMO as big a c*ck as Adkins has been and as for their fans I mean WTF ?? They have one decent season and now they are a massive club with a massive future and all of a sudden we are scared because they are a massive team. Strange, strange people down in Brighton and so delightfully tin pot.
