Brighton V Saints 1-2 Post match Chat!

SOTONS EAST SIDE

Recommended Posts

Anybody else see Poyets comments on Brighton Player that we are exactly the same as Dagenham except we have Lambert, and that if Dagenham had Lambert then they would be top 6. Think the man hates us.

I actually had quite a lot of time for Poyet until hearing some of his comments.

He's shown himself to be a rather sad and classless pr*ck.

Remember last season when Huddersfield scored in the last minute against someone when we were chasing the playoffs, the same night we beat bristol away. I remember that feeling and it all but ended our playoff charge...what we did today is exactly the same, and I believe has hurt Huddersfield hard.

Great win, great character.

I used to really have a lot of time for Poyet, but he's making himself look a tool. We had 5 players named in the team of the year (5 more than Dagenham I believe) and none of them were Lambert!! Although Lambert is very important to us and he would no doubt improve any League 1 team he played in, we are clearly more than a 1 man team. Just a bitter man.

They deserved teh title for playing good football consistently - so whats his feckin problem? Sad little man.

Driving up the I4 from Anna Maria Island to Kissimmee looking at the bbc site on my blackberry getting bollocked by the mrs & mother in law then 1-1 - Get in, cheers coming out the car. Fonte - car is swerving everywhere - I shout ****ing get in in the loudest voice only to get another bollocking..........strange Americans stunned.

COYS - lets keep going.....

Quick point on David Connolly, if he were fit all the time he would not be playing in Div 3. Never forget his first goals up at Oldham last season. Top quality.

Please don't tell me that your in laws went with you to the coast?

Your wife so owns you it's scary.

In ten years time Poyet will probably be managing Sporting (how inaapropriate) Dago somewhere else, having ballsed up at Tottingham, and won't even remember where Brighton is.

Put a few quid on Saints to win 3-1 before the game. Fel confident but I'll take the 2-1!

Fair play to Connolly for sticking with it. He was brilliant last week when he came on. Also, fair play to Gobern, who I felt could play a role today.

Was it Rochdale? Luton? Milwall? Swansea? Barnsley? AFC Totton?

Don't know, don't care. The same as everyone else.

I love being accused of arrogance by Brighton who seem to think they are amazing because they are less bad than some other clubs in League One... Come back after 30 years in the top flight and once you've produced Shearer, Wallace, Le Tissier, Oakley, Bridge, Walcott, Bale, Lallana, Chamberlain....

Poyet's comments are pathetic.

Do Brighton play good football? No question about it. But if the best way to beat Brighton on the day is by being direct and in the last ten mins then its going to happen. We played some great stuff when Adkins first arrived but now were grinding out results, and if it get us out of this division then thats fine.

These comments make today's victory so much sweeter. I would rather play direct (when required) than wave fake cards and dive. See you in NPC next season, hope we hammer them at their place first game of the season.

Been there, enjoyed so much. it's worth visiting from Russia. Thanks a lot ot a person who's given me a ticket. Such a games worth to be a Saints supporter!

Saw your thread about a spare ticket a few weeks ago! Glad you got there in the end! Despite my envy!

Thats the sort of character required of a mentally tough side in a promotion chase...

Well done NA and the team - An excellent result delivered under pressure.

As for Poyet - No class! I suspect his rambling drivel will be thrown back in his face in the CCC.

Great result lads. Nigel, you are such a second-rate bull****ter when it comes to after match comments.

"A goal was always coming.." is up there with " there are a lot of games left and the pressure is really on them (Brighton) and yes of course we can win this league..."

Be honest man you didn't see this coming at 80 minutes any more than the rest of us; I'll bet you were soiling your nappies for the last ten minutes.

you are obviously a genuine head case

we hit the woodwork, their keeper made an unbelievable save or two...even the utterly bitter brighton fans on their message board are saying we were the best team

serious question

what is wrong with you..?

I've posted about the small time and pathetic antics of B&HA FC on another thread so time to focus on our boys excellent efforts. Was this going to be another Bournemouth away where commitment met moments of real quality of another Rochdale? Thankfully it was the former and well deserved too. Appropriate that Fonte got the winner - a worthy player of the season surely? I'd echo Frank's Cousins' comments though: this is Saints and we can't afford to slacken off in any of the remaining games one iota and we are far from home and dry. Good to hear Adkins losing his rag at half-time, it shows his desire and drive to get us over the finishing line.

OKay, boys, I admit it - I am a Jonah. Missed the whole of the Orient game on Solent - we win 2-0. Listen to Rochdale, we lose. Listen for 83 minutes today, then say b0ll0x to it, I'm taking the dog out, it just ain't our day. By the time I'm in the car we are 2-1 up! I can take a hint & the radio stayed safely off till 5 o'clock.

To be fair I was listening on radio and we did seem to have alot of chances and do everything but score *****ill we did);

Sky say 6 shots on target, 6 off and 3 corners to brighton who had 3 shots on 2 off and zero corners.

You will only feel worse when Cesc p1sses off to Spain as well - get on the bus!

Great day, great win. And we totally deserved it. A real desire to win and we never gave up. Great to see their fans streaming out before the final whistle (and on their big day too!).

What IS Poyet's problem with us? he can't give us a compliment without having a pop. Bit of a chip on his holder methinks...

Poyet has form with us. When he was a player at Chelsea one of our players gave him an immense injury, North African fellow, not Kachoul whose name escapes me right now. We followed this up with taunts of "Where's your Poyet gone" at the next game.

I always rated a Poyet as a player - at least until he moved to the Spuds, and Brighton have done very well this year.

I wish them all the best, congratulate them on going nearly unbeaten for the season at home and wish them all the best with filling the Credit Card Stadium next year, hopefully they are on less than 26.9% APR.

Anyway, I support Southampton - I've clearly fallen for this bogus derby ********. Great result and the sort of comeback and never say die that we have become used to under Adkins. As many have noted Hartlepool is our traditional banana skin.

I must admit that I wasn't expecting to get much out of the game today, so when we went 1 - 0 down I feared the worst, but I watched the fight back against the Dons and figured we can salvage a point, but they went one better and grabbed all three>> outstanding result......Proud to me a SAINT on ST GEORGE'S day. Get in!!!!!!

Great result, thats twice we've out played Brighton this season now, do they really play good football, or are they just a niggly bunch of divers and time wastesr? Have to admit I wasn't to hopefull of getting anything after Lambert hit the post I thought it wasn't going to be our day, but the boys stuck at it for a very sweet win. Hopefully all those dickhead brighton fans will stick to their own message boards now.

Well done Nigel, well done boys and well those supporters who went down to Brighton COYRs

Kris Temple [from Radio Solent] tweet:

'pre-match nonsense was huge case of setting yrself up for a fall! Also Adam El-Abd... hang your head in shame. Pathetic.'

A 'what happened?' query was then followed by:

'Happened to see El-Abd trying to wrestle with Fonte at corner. El-Abd then threw himself on floor holding his face, Fonte nowhere near him'

Have a word Poyet!

NAIL ON HEAD

let him ***** on about how wonderful his great "team" is.

Every team in this league knows the game plan they employ.

Ive seen more writtern about that, than what a great passing side they are!!!!
