Saint_clark Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Superb win - was worried it was a case of chances missed and a 1-0 defeat but again we score 2 late goals to win. we MUST follow this up with points at Plymouth. We've got two more games before that mate Or have you written those off?
SaintBobby Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Adkins on Solent now. "You have to be gracious in defeat and shake hands....if you don't do that...well, I'll leave it there...." Did Poyet refuse a handshake?
saint boggy Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 absolutely made up by this result!....was happy with a draw but not for 1 MINUTE did i think we'd get all 3 points today!...but well done to the team, they kept battling til the very end....... now WE are the only ones who can f**k this up for us.... COYR!!!!!!
S-Clarke Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 I just knew we'd win this one, we always manage to raise it for the bigger games which makes the Rochdale and Walsall results even more frustrating! Hartlepool at home will be the killer test though - comes very quickly after this one and we've put so much into this. We should win it...but let's not count our chickens just yet, still a long way to go in order to secure this! This team is terrific though, the complete mentalist that said before the game ''we don't have the mental strength as other teams'' - care to come and retract that comment? This is the sort of win that could psychologically kill Huddersfield.

Ewell Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Amazing result, now let’s close out promotion by winning the next 3 matches so that we can all enjoy the last home game against Walsall in relative comfort, I can dream can't I.

CanadaSaint Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Brilliant result. LOL at Ankergren. First he has a go at Chaplow at 1-0 but that didn't work out to well when Chaplow clattered him. The he starts his time wasting crap, also at 1-0, but that didn't work out so well, either.
derry Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 The Brighton fans, management, publicity people really set themselves up for this with their petulant behaviour. All I can say after their arrogant transparent behaviour, is 'have some of that'. A more graceless bunch especially after their brilliant season it would be difficult to conceive. It is a terrific way to put their season to bed, end their unbeaten run, end their unbeaten record at home and now leave them facing possibly another defeat next week. A brilliant result, back in the driving seat, forget this one and Brighton move on to Monday and take it from there.
martel Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 what a cracking result...and we even gifted them a goal. have to say, this team.. no matter what we all say about how they are not playing well. get results and have real character/desire/will to win brilliant..... I have to agree with that, I do not know how many will agree with me, however, I think Adkins really knows how to turn a game around, his subs, sorry impact players have changed games for us a few times this season. Cabrone Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Not particularly surprised as this is Saints, we always seem to win when no-one expects it + I really fancied a result at their place. Huddersfield fans must be distraught as I'm sure they would have pinned their hopes to a Saints loss. Now they must go there and hopefully a stung Brighton will beat them. Brilliant 3 points but we MUST follow it up now and get the job done. Would be typical Saints to beat Brighton and then lose to the likes of Walsall. Don't screw it up Saints!!! Put it this way - would saints fans ever, ever, ever take the time to write out banners about the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion? They've won the league but proved themselves to be an absolutely nothing club. The visit of Saints was their little cup final. And they lost. Good luck to them in their gigantic new stadium. RobM Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 Gus said he wanted 100 points this season. If my quick maths serves me correctly, the maximum they can now get is 99. They coast out of this division because they're built for it, but I think they'll struggle next year. We have to fight to get out of this division because we're much better suited to the one above, where I don't think we'll struggle. And that's before we strengthen the squad. If that makes us arrogant, so be it.

SNSUN Posted 23 April, 2011 Share Posted 23 April, 2011 When people were doing the predictions, a lot of people had this down as a defeat, but I was always confident we could pick something up against Brighton, but to do it in the way we did was fantastic. I think we were helped a bit by Brighton already having procured the title, but a very important three points to take us back to second, a big confidence boost for us, and a psychological blow for Huddersfield. Chuffed to bits.

I'm not even sure that Huddersfield will be gutted, we were always the favourites for 2nd place since we beat Bournemouth.A minor hitch at Rochdale won't really have changed that. They just need to get their play-off campaign together now and not get beaten by Bournemouth in the first round.
