Thedelldays Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 what a cracking result...and we even gifted them a goal. have to say, this team.. no matter what we all say about how they are not playing well. get results and have real character/desire/will to win brilliant.....
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssss ffff****ing beauty
Toadhall Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Been saying it all season - we will beat them at theirs! So glad to be right especially as I don't think Hudders will get anything at the Withdean next week.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 23 April, 2011 Author Posted 23 April, 2011 (edited) David Connorlly is a must For some more games surely! Edited 23 April, 2011 by SOTONS EAST SIDE
Jimmy_D Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 What a win over the sea vermin! And just to complete the day Pompey now can't mathematically make the playoffs
THEVMAN Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Site melt down get in there boys brilliant win who needs Old Trafford.
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Exceedingly well pleased. You can huff and puff all you like but class like Connolly's will always tell. We need to get him really fit this summer and he'll do it for us in the championship still.Probably more so than Lambert.
redkeith Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Great result. They were there for the taking, but it looked like we had shot ourselves in the foot once again. 45 Minutes from Llallana, Chaplow back to his best and Connolly being a super sub again. Another nervous afternoon on monday, but I its so good to astill be second tonight. A bientot
Red And White Barmy Army Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 When I heard Solent saying Fonte's put it in the net I thought they meant it was an own goal. I went from the worst feeling in the world to a high not experienced in years in less than a second! LUVIT SAINTSSSSS!!!!!! Now lets win in at Plymouth so it's on my patch please =)
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Absolutely elated, superb character to come back and I said Connolly would get a vital goal and it appears he has. Nice to shove a win back in Brighton's faces (played their best team as well). The whole team must be buzzing now. A fantastic result. Was jumping all over the place when I saw that Fonte scored!
Saint_clark Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 "We don't care about you" is one of my favourite chants now.
Viking Warrior Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Well done saints I said we would win 2-1 shove that up your rrses you negative fans who had us down to lose
Saint_Jonny Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Absolutely brilliant!! It was never in doubt, I KNEW we'd win. Im not making it up either, just couldnt see us losing for some reason, ON TOP OF THE WORLD TONIGHT!!!!!
sfc1976 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Never really given Brighton that much thought before, but having witnessed their seemingly relentless obsession with us on their forum, this 3 points does feel especially nice!
saint_bert Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 What a shame DC is so injury prone. Bloke is a class act.
Micky Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Great win - but not the time for complacentcy. Enjoy the moment - but time to go back to work soon. When we celebrate for real, I want it to be a celebration of the season not just a single game. Well done NA and Saints.
southbourne saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Feeling great tonight. Not only a fantastic result bit also a real kick in the proverbials for Huddersfield. If we can be out of sight by half time on Monday i think it could break them if Daggers play well.
dubai_phil Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 It sounded clear that Brighton had taken that extra 5% off the gas and we should have made them pay in the 1st half, but we didn't and we gifted them a soft goal. Fair play to NA who sounded as if he tried at least 3 different tactical shapes to the game. Right now I really do not give a sh1t about the inevitable muppets who will come on and say we should have scored 10 or we aren't good enough or Pardew would have done it differently and we'd have been 4 up at half time We have that 2nd place and we have breathing space. Worried? Of course. Rather be in our position than Udders? feck yeah
pap Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I listened on SaintsPlayer. Their fans didn't come over as especially classy. I imagine they'll return to their seaside caves to fling faeces at the walls now. I'm glad we beat them. Not quite instant karma, but it arrived soon enough.
Jimmy_D Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 So, now we've taken 4 points off of them, and got more players in the team of the year, does that mean we win under the AV system?
saint_bert Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 When I heard Solent saying Fonte's put it in the net I thought they meant it was an own goal. I went from the worst feeling in the world to a high not experienced in years in less than a second! LUVIT SAINTSSSSS!!!!!! Now lets win in at Plymouth so it's on my patch please =) I know what you mean. Also heard the whistle repeatedly being blown. Though it was ruled out.
Crab Lungs Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 From an objective, fair Brighton fan: It's part of KARMA that the ******s don't understand. SCC hadn't made big arrogant remarks and many of ours HAVE been larging itr up all over the ****in' show. Result? Southampton took our unbeaten home record, get to puff in pride about their manager's claims that they have better players as individuals, and it will carry over to next season. We should have left it at 'let's just see' after his 'keep up' comments, and then.....seen.
musesaint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Just finished sorting out a spantaneous orgasm Get IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
View From The Top Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 My nipper and I went nuts and burst into tears. I 'kin love Saints.
um pahars Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 It doesn't mean anything as we never beat them 10-0!!!!! Yeah right!!!!!!! Get the fook in there!!!!!!!! Great comeback!!!!!!
Ampersound Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 When I heard Solent saying Fonte's put it in the net I thought they meant it was an own goal. I went from the worst feeling in the world to a high not experienced in years in less than a second! LUVIT SAINTSSSSS!!!!!! Now lets win in at Plymouth so it's on my patch please =) Exactly the same as me!! Brilliant result!
BallBoy Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Massive, massive win against the odds with so many injuries. This needed real character. Huddesfield must be more sick today than we were yesterday. We are really in the driving seat now.
david in sweden Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 shame on all who criticised Saints for persisiting with keeping David Connolly. He's been injured for most of the season and now pops up with a most valuable goal YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
alpine_saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Wow.Just.....wow. We p*ssed in their pool big time. F*ck the guard of honour, we showed them who is still the best team on the South Coast. So, so glad that Connolly is stepping up to the plate to replace Barnard.
Wes Tender Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I'm really upset we didn't hammer them 10-0. But it was great that Southampton's forgotten striker, Connolly, scored the first and that Fonte scored the second. I reckon that will move him somewhat up the voting for player of the season, as that was probably the most important goal of the season so far. Glad to see Chaplow back to his best too with a man of the match performance according to Solent.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 23 April, 2011 Author Posted 23 April, 2011 (edited) what a shame dc is so injury prone. Bloke is a class act. +1 Edited 23 April, 2011 by SOTONS EAST SIDE
Bensfcno1 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 GREAT result! Great Character and great to see Connolly make an impact!
Saint 76er Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Hope Markus enjoyed that one! First home defeat for them ... bet they really do hate us now !!!
bpsaint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Lost for words, really am! To go there knowing how good Brighton have been this season, and after slipping from 2nd place yesterday, to get all 3 points is amazing. My heart and head are both well and truly telling me we will get automatic promotion now!
saints-cris Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 IM SO HAPPY! What a win, absoloutely massive. 3 points more than I thought we'd get in the run in. So chuffed. We keep scoring late goals and thats so important, the character of this side seems brilliant at the moment. However, lets not go crazy on their board, after all we dont care about them. Lets just enjoy this right here.
musesaint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 When I heard Solent saying Fonte's put it in the net I thought they meant it was an own goal. I went from the worst feeling in the world to a high not experienced in years in less than a second! LUVIT SAINTSSSSS!!!!!! Now lets win in at Plymouth so it's on my patch please =) Same for me ...for a few seconds I thought it was an own goal !!! Then............running round the house shouting get the **** in !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Badvoc Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Scummers 'ere we come, scummers, scummers 'ere we come. Watch out Pompey, the Saints are coming!
Saint_clark Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I also thought Fonte had scored an own goal for a while until the commentator said "snatched a vital win for Southampton".
SaintBobby Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Connolly is phenomenal. I reckon he still has a major role play to play for us.
skintsaint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Superb win - was worried it was a case of chances missed and a 1-0 defeat but again we score 2 late goals to win. we MUST follow this up with points at Plymouth.
Painswick Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Great result for us - massive psychological blow to Huddersfield.
