Saint Garrett Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Saints Vs Brighton (4-3-3). Davis. Butterfield, Fonte, Jaidi, Dickson. Hammond ©, Chaplow, Gobern. Guly, Lambert, Forte On the bench for Saints today are: Bialkowski, Richardson, Seaborne, Stephens, Lallana, Connolly and N'Guessan Big day for Gobern today. 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 ?! COME ON YOU SAINTS !!
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 That looks a little bit experimental to me. By 4.55pm we will know if that was a stroke of genius by Adkins, or a stroke of stupidity.
Suhari Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I like that as a 4-5-1, with the opportunity for Chaplow to make forward runs
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Watching Gobern he reminded me of Carlton Palmer, who in his first season for us was sensational. Just hope Gobern lives up to that image, breaking up the opposition and making long strides upfield for 90 minutes, not the Palmer of his second (part) season where everything just passed him by in midfield. This seems a tall order for a youngster, lets hope its the making of him.
SaintNeil90 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Sibley says 4-3-3. Not keen on Gobern starting, hope he proves me wrong.
Dalek2003 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern has been chosen over Stephens for a reason, any ideas ?
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I like that as a 4-5-1, with the opportunity for Chaplow to make forward runs it looks like a very aggressive selection. Hope it pays off. Depends on Brighton's line up I guess.
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern has been chosen over Stephens for a reason, any ideas ? Perhaps we're not going to keep Stephens, perhaps he isn't fully fit.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern has been chosen over Stephens for a reason, any ideas ? Stephens didn't offer much against Bristol. Seemed to want to sit back with Hammond when we needed someone to burst forward. Hopefully Gobern and Chaplow will do that today. Either way, I think 3 in the middle is a good idea today.
Griffo Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 **** sake, can we PLEASE just play Lallana. He was rested so he could play this game I'm sure..
North Wilts Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 it looks like a very aggressive selection. Hope it pays off. Depends on Brighton's line up I guess. From BAHA Website "Gus Poyet picks the same side the sealed the League One title with a 3-1 win at Walsall last Saturday. The Albion boss also names an unchanged bench for this afternoon's clash against Southampton."
Dalek2003 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Ohwhen and window could be right. Anyway, its **** or bust time !
Cascadia Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 (edited) This is it... In Adkins we trust. That's a 'bold' team selection! I agree that this might be the sort of game to bring the best out of chaplow - he owes us a decent game by now. Not sure about gobern, depends how he is used. COYS!! Edited 23 April, 2011 by Cascadia Saint Sausage fingers.
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Thank god we don't have that Bournemouth commentator on Solent
SaintNeil90 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Ohwhen and window could be right. Anyway, its **** or bust time ! No its not!
SaintNeil90 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern is terrible!! we will regret this shut up
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 it looks like a very aggressive selection. Hope it pays off. Depends on Brighton's line up I guess. Do you think we might have eleven still on the pitch at 90 minutes ? What odds on Chaplow or Gobern to be first to go ?
S-Clarke Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern is terrible!! we will regret this He isn't.
dubai_phil Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Time the second really big decision of the day, after Nige picks Gobern... yep do I start off with a Magners on the rocks or Guinness. We're gonna be fine, Spurs supporting fiuture son in law is here to listen in (nobody wants to take him to the pub to watch the spuds) so last time he watched us was away at Charlton & we got a point there. Here's hoping for consitency today. But he ain't getting no Magners that stuff's like Gold dust down here
trousers Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 jordansibley: First song blaring out on the PA system here at the Withdean - "Catch us if you can". Nice! #saintsfc
Window Cleaner Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Do you think we might have eleven still on the pitch at 90 minutes ? What odds on Chaplow or Gobern to be first to go ? I'd bet on Chaplow getting booked, don't think we'll have anyone sent off though, they'll have been warned by the manager.
trousers Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 **** sake, can we PLEASE just play Lallana. He was rested so he could play this game I'm sure.. I suspect his injury needs a bit more nursing through to the end of the season
CWD Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Interesting... This is a big one. Come on lads, let's **** on their party
trousers Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 jordansibley: The Saints related megamix continues, second song to be played is "Making plans for Nigel" #saintsfc
Crab Lungs Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Well said 'Macca' Good summariser. Alluded to that Cotterill was a fantasist about his refs vs Pompey campaign (rightly so) and made a sensible call about the GoH. Don't lose him, Radio Solent.
Nessy7 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Seconded request for radio link. I haven't got SaintsPlayer based on everyone's complaints here so please don't vilify my request!
patred44 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Seconded request for radio link. I haven't got SaintsPlayer based on everyone's complaints here so please don't vilify my request! Try Radio Solent or Radio Sussex maybe!
Saintandy666 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I don't know whether to get a saintsplayer subscription for today or not. I only cancelled mine last month... not sure I want to go crawling back straight away!
Nessy7 Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Try Radio Solent or Radio Sussex maybe! Sorry to be annoying but it doesn't work on computer right? I don't live in Southampton (but am here today) so excuse my being stupid
Cascadia Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Seconded request for radio link. I haven't got SaintsPlayer based on everyone's complaints here so please don't vilify my request! If you are in the uk, then solent online should be okay. Otherwise I haven't got a clue apart from saints player...
Stepgar Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Seconded request for radio link. I haven't got SaintsPlayer based on everyone's complaints here so please don't vilify my request! I really dont think that there is mate as both Saints and Brighton have the Saints player infrastructure. All to do with legal rights. Which in my opinion is bol locks. You should be able to listen for free through the internet not just through your car stereo or local radio.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Gobern is terrible!! we will regret this He will score!
Cascadia Saint Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Seconded request for radio link. I haven't got SaintsPlayer based on everyone's complaints here so please don't vilify my request! Oh, and I have never really had a problem with Saints Player. Totally worth the money in my opinion.
Badger Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 I'd bet on Chaplow getting booked, don't think we'll have anyone sent off though, they'll have been warned by the manager. Wait on the red mist to kick in.
RobM Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 It's a very physical team, which worries me as both Gobern and Chaplow have shown their dodgy temperament in the past, which is the last thing we need against the diving cry babies of Brighton.
Saint_Jonny Posted 23 April, 2011 Posted 23 April, 2011 Saints player off to a terrific start on my comp. Keeps cutting out and taking an age to refresh the page. Might just be me though. FFS. COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!!!
