Saint Charlie Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 (edited) Saints U18 fullback scored for Eng U16 in a 5-0 tournament win vs Uruguay. Anyone seen him play? Edited 20 April, 2011 by Saint Charlie
Barry the Badger Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 I don't think so. What team does he play for? England Under 18's.
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 He played in the Victory Shield on Sky a few weeks back. Plays left back, classy on the ball and eager to get forward. Definitely one for the future.
Barry the Badger Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Definitely one for the future. Based on our recent history with academy graduates he certainly is one for the future. The future of Coventry, Derby, QPR, Reading or any other of the teams we hope to be competing with.

Barry the Badger Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Well thats the negative view... Let's be honest. We all know that when we get a great player through, he will be gone in a year. If Jake Sinclair turns out to live up to expectations, we will see him for a year at most. Same for any others. This will be the case at least until we make it to the prem and probably even after that.

Deppo Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 I can't really understand why you are getting on Lallana's back, ribbo. The lad just signed a new contract. If anything he proves that we CAN hold on to decent academy players.
Barry the Badger Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Lallana is exactly the type of player we should be looking to produce. Brilliant for us but not quite good enough for the top prem teams to be interested. Perfect. Perhaps we should introduce some sort of policy in the academy. We coach them until they are almost top prem players and then just stop.

Saint Charlie Posted 20 April, 2011 Author Posted 20 April, 2011 Sounds like Shaw is a very good prospect - a lot of that Eng u16 team haven't played many U18 games but he features regularly for Saints at U18 level.
hamster Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Isn't it about time we brought the Dutch duo back? They were made for this latest group coming through IMHO.
