keithd Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Intercepted at the Royal Mail. WTF is that all about?!
Rattlehead Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Probably something to do with him being ginger.
Minty Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Two other bombs were sent to two other prominent Celtic fans, an ex-MSP and a QC. All a bit sick really.
Verbal Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Probably a DVD. Most of my post, when it's a film, gets intercepted by Royal Mail.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Since Lennon joined Celtic as a player he has been beaten unconcious in the street, has had to retire from International football because of death threats that the police advised him to take seriously and is now living under 24 hour security while his partner and their young son are moved to safe houses on matchdays. Shortly after he was posted bullets, a hoax nail bomb was sent to him. Facebook has plenty of Lennon hate groups with his picture showing him riddled with bullets or hanging from a noose which have been removed on numerous occssions. Now the nutters and sick bigots are sending letter bombs. If Lennon resigns it will be a very sad day for Scotland and Scottish football.
Gorgiesaint Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Welcome to the sick world of sectarianism in Scottish football. It is totally wrong but I might have a little more sympathy if the clubs involved were actually interested in sorting the problem out, but they seem to be doing precious little to try and eradicate it. and if I can correct AndyNorthernSaints, if Lennon resigns over this it will be a very sad day for Scotland and Scottish football. If Lennon resigns for any other reason it will be a very great day for Scotland and Scottish football as the guy is a complete kn0b.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Not so much Scottish fans as Irish ones I think. They're mentalists over there compared to the Scots.
Johnny Bognor Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Probably a DVD. Most of my post, when it's a film, gets intercepted by Royal Mail. What is it with you and film?

There are bigots on both sides that will never disapear but sending letter bombs attempting to kill someone is just getting crazy. Don't know Neil Lennon personally so no idea if your opinion of him is true.

Don't know Neil Lennon personally so no idea if your opinion of him is true. I don't know him personally but only from how he portrays himself in the media. But agree, the sending of letter bombs is crazy but neither side of the old firm have taken much action to reduce sectarianism as I can vouch for from recent visits to Parkhead & Ibrox.
holepuncture Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Probably a DVD. Most of my post, when it's a film, gets intercepted by Royal Mail. Really? How bizzare. Never had that done to me in any address I have ever lived in! That would really annoy me. Ive seen modern x-ray scanners used to filter dodgy post, food scanning and so on, and they wouldnt flag up a dvd! These letter bombs are a bit OTT. So now we have extremism in football, religion doing its dirty work in the beautiful game. The Irish really need to get over themselves, and there stupid relgious differences, its utterly ridiculous - this is supposed to be a 1st world, educated nation, and theyre (violent minority) trying to blow up bloody policemen and footy managers! Always worried a bit about the blatantly easy terror target that is football stadiums.

The sorting office near me was famous for making them 'disappear'. And this is clearly more important than mere parcel bombs being sent to football managers. Poor Neil Lennon. It's horrifying living under that sort of threat.

Huffton Posted 20 April, 2011 Posted 20 April, 2011 Any way of getting his post redirected? No one would bat an eyelid at a few extra brown envelopes... H Redknapp Somewhere in Sandbanks Poole

This is the reason I cancelled my Tesco film and game rental subscription, the posties kept nicking everything, leaving me to go through lengthy claims processes.
Sheaf Saint Posted 21 April, 2011 Posted 21 April, 2011 It seems that when Bill Shankly said that football is more important than a matter of life and death, a number of people have difficulty realising that he didn't actually mean it. Whatever this is about (it seems pretty obvious that it is to do with the Irish sectarianism thing but I don't want to jump to any conclusions) people need to get some perspective. Football rivalry can be bad enough without the need to bring religious differences into it. I suppose I am lucky that I have never lived in that world where kids have a hatred of other ethnic / religious groups instilled into them from birth, but I truly cannot get my head round it sometimes.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 April, 2011 Posted 24 April, 2011 What an absolute idiot he was today. I don't think it's just today though.
