swannymere Posted 18 April, 2011 Share Posted 18 April, 2011 Try http://www.southalltravel.co.uk i've used them three times when booking flights to Australia and they've always found the best deals. I input dates of 10/01 -24/01 and it came back with £705 each inc.taxes via Schippol (Amsterdam) from Heathrow.
Deppo Posted 18 April, 2011 Share Posted 18 April, 2011 I got a cheap flight to Gdansk from Ryanair. Have you tried them?
dubai_phil Posted 18 April, 2011 Share Posted 18 April, 2011 Try the ME airlines. Emirates Qatar & Etihad otherwise it will be Kenya or Ethiopean airways yuk Also if someone daft like KLM Lufthansa or Air France come into Plymouth may be cheaper than getting to LHR Also other EU couontries don't have the same daft green taxes so Ryanair/Sleasyjet or FlyBE to Europe & then across if you book early enuff
eurosaint Posted 19 April, 2011 Share Posted 19 April, 2011 If you are not travelling till next Jan, just keep looking on a regular basis and you'll find that the fares do change (don't ask me why!). Jan is high season BTW! On average you may need to pay about £700 (BA, Virgin And SA are usually very similar) but my daughter only paid about £400 last year so you can get lucky ! Having done it many times, I suggest that you stick to the main direct airlines as the alternatives normally involve hidden costs and hassle! Fares to Joburg can be cheaper if you are prepared to build in a long car/train journey as part of your holiday but if it is just in transit, I don't think you'll gain anything ! HTH. Doctoroncall Posted 19 April, 2011 Share Posted 19 April, 2011 see if you can get flights from EU (paris, amsterdam), they tend to be much cheaper although the exchange rate isn't great at the moment. Then it's just the matter of getting over to the city you fly from.
notnowcato Posted 19 April, 2011 Share Posted 19 April, 2011 See if flying out on New Years Day is any cheaper. I flew to CT on New Years day 3 years ago and saved a tidy sum.
