Brighton build-up

After playing poorly today, we probably will need to play much better on Saturday to get a win at Brighton. It also depends on what sort of mood Brighton are in. Gus Poyet was quoted somewhere saying that if/when they went up then the remaining games would be used to try out younger players in the first team. Hopefully that is the case.

With Huddersfield playing away at MK Dons and Peterborough away at Orient on Friday, let's hope at least one of them will drop points and we'll still be in a decent position come Saturday.

Hopefully Lallana is back for it too.

I was thinking this earlier and I reckon this is our only real hope of getting anything from the game. If he plays a full-strength team, with no pressure on them as the title is already seasled, it would be hard to bet against anything other than yet another home win.

Trouble is that if he field a weakened side against us Huddersfield and Peterborough will probably kick up a fuss.

day they won the league, looked at their forum - 7 threads on front page about us! Makes you proud. Like when cherries go promoted last season their first thought was playing at St Marys (players, manager and fans) looks like Brighton hold us in similar esteem

to be fair...we got obsessed by bournemouth for a little while....a fair few threads on here.....they are loving it after we tried to take one of the best players in the summer...our arrogance...they way adkins said they will need to keep up with us

it would be the same on this place had the roles been reveresed

I see no reason why we can't go there and get all 3 points.

We had a game against Norwich last season, they hadn't lost at home in god knows how long, were top of the table as champions elect and we went away 2-0 winners. We've shown this season to perform better against the ''better'' teams, so I'm pretty confident.

A defeat wouldn't be a disaster but it would put a lot of pressure on our remaining games.

Lets hope that Brighton play a weaker team against us - on our day we can beat them but with the amount of injuries we've got at the moment (especially to key players) then it's looking very unlikely we'll take 3 points from them at home, against a full-strength Brighton team.

Not really. Remember they brought out a DVD of their last victory against us.

Another small neighbor with a chip on their shoulder.

because, we never produced DvDs or had irrational hatreds for north london yobbos and tried to create some sort of rivalry..?

nope, saints would never be like that

We are small and insignificant to Spurs, Brighton are the same to us. We are their Spurs.

DvD is not the point of brighton going on about us.....we have done it time and time again about clubs that have gotton to us

Surely a club bringing out a DVD of a League win against us shows their sad obsession.

Do you seriously thing we would start selling DVDs of next week's game if we beat them?

I think we did that because it was the first time we had played well nearly all season, and against Southampton who, as we know, are a big club and our south coast neighbours. I know we are nothing compared to Pompey in your eyes, but as Palace are in the league above, you and Ballmouth are the closest rivals we have. Also, being Poyet's first game in charge made it that much more special.

You have to admit it's a bit sad. When we brought out the DVD of our win at Spurs I was embarrassed. I used to live up near Tottenham and we are completely off their radar, like Brighton is to Saints. You could win the Champions League or go out of business - neither would bother us.

I am confident of three points at Brighton and have been for weeks tbh. Don't know why, just feel it will be so!

This! It should be a sure loss but in my head it just isn't, I know we will get something from this game, and my heart is telling me it'll be a win! :)

I think that's where we differ though. I, personally, as would a lot of my fellow Albion supporters I feel, would be quite upset at the prospect of a club going out of business. Well, in the recent case of Plymouth we certainly feel for them. It depends why I guess, but I would care if you went out of business.

I don't think it is sad we released a dvd, as our fans were absolutely amazed at how comprehensively we beat you and we played really well so we released the dvd. It was a great game for us, and I would pay to watch it again.

I think you're taking him too literally there. When you guys were in the serious **** a few years back, plenty of saints (and others, nothing special about us on that one) tried to help.

I think there are a few Southampton fans who are simply getting a bit tired of fans of other clubs (clubs for whom lots of us have sympathy or good feeling for), suddenly decide that we're the nastiest thing since the porno shots of Rooney's last conquest.

Regarding the dvd game, are you talking about the 2-3 at our place last season? You might need to watch it again (or just check the scoreline), as I think you have built it up a little.

Since the mainstream media is obsessed with the Premier League, not sure there is a problem with any club releasing a DVD when (once in blue moon their club) is involved in a live televised game.

Not so much the game but the build up and interviews etc..

Is anyone who recorded such a game "sad" as well.
