braveheart1983 Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Too close! Glad we got a win....especially with the results around us.
jamesb Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 oh my god that was hard listening, guly was the only one in our team who could produce a little bit of magic. Glad he wasnt dropped!
dubai_phil Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Never in doubt from the moment I switched to Mai Tai instead of the usual beer Even the GF was giving it the arrgghs tho Let's face it we were really nervy,, Forte could have score 3 or 4 and Lambo missed a sitter and shaved the post there is no team in this league that can stop us going up Us, and our own nerves
Smirking_Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Well done Nige, nursing a team carrying injuries, weight of expectation and out of form players and guiding them to the finish line. We pulled one out of the bag today, thanks christ.
Thedelldays Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 dear god...great bit of character again shown there... sounds like the first half was terrible but we piled on the pressure...things could have been easier if it was not for the many sitter missed we are at the stage of the season where wins matter..nothing else.. great win and another game closer to the end of the season sat in 2nd place barny OxO Lallana Morgan take those players away from any team in league 1 and most NPC teams and they will feel it big time....good squad to have
Cabrone Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Never a dull moment following this team eh (we've just assured the playoffs BTW).
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 oh my god that was hard listening, guly was the only one in our team who could produce a little bit of magic. Glad he wasnt dropped! I suspect he or Forte was coming off before Barnards injury! silver lining?
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Never a dull moment following this team eh (we've just assured the playoffs BTW). 5 more matches is bad enough but 7 or 8 via the play offs will kill me. sort it out Saints match hudders in 4 out of 5 and we are up!
DG Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Phew can't take much more of that, the key injuries are starting to pile up though.
SuperMikey Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Bloody nora, that was difficult to listen to! Hope Barney's injury isn't too serious - the 'taters said it looked like he went over on his ankle so it looks like he'll be 'shut down' for a week.
Yate Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Great win in the end. Good work Guly. I hope we get Lallana back for next weekend. Hudds and P'boro both play on the Friday, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not!!
leithsaint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Never doubted that Saints would score. Sounded like they were creating so many chances, eventually one had to go in. DC coming on to supply some experience. One step closer........
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Bloody nora, that was difficult to listen to! Hope Barney's injury isn't too serious - the 'taters said it looked like he went over on his ankle so it looks like he'll be 'shut down' for a week. We are missing Morgan, Adam, Oxo, Jaidi, Barney and Harding 6 first teamers! so todays win was just the business. Barney sounded serious and i think it will be more than a week but we do have connolly fit and fresh at last and could make a difference!
gjphilsaint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 performance.. irrelevant.. result ..essential... win ugly if needs be, but win..........
ChrisPY Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Great win in the end. Good work Guly. I hope we get Lallana back for next weekend. Hudds and P'boro both play on the Friday, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not!! If they lose, it is good.
Ohio Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 The stats make it look a lot easier than it was to listen to. Well done though considering our injuries. Now I'm going to look on ebay for a pacemaker.
Leicestersaint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 I thought it was goign to be one of thsoe games - thank goodness for Guly! Now we have the big test next Saturday - and how many injured players do we have?
Saint Charlie Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 When NA is on the radio someone please summarise what he says re injuries!
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 The injuries aren't good but this is why we have the squad we do. I've a sneaky suspicion that somewhere over the next few weeks Connolly is going to get a very important goal for us. No game for a week now, and Adkins can plan his team for the Brighton game based on how Posh and Huddersfield do on the Friday - both have challenging away games. Looks like we had plenty of shots on goal, so long may that continue!
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Stephens, Forte, N'gussen, Connolly, Dickson, Seabourne suddenly all key players for the last 5 matches!
Ohio Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Hold on, our goal was the 82nd minute? How come the last 8 minutes and 5 mins Fergie time seemed to last 3 hours?
Saint 76er Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 So, now we've all calmed down it's on to BHA next week. Impossible to know what state of mind they'll be in, or us either, but if we get turned over there then Udders will likely go above us and Posh along side us. Pressure will really be on then and no Barney by the sound of things. Strangely, we may well have only won because of his injury! Hope AL is back next week to give us a lift as others are falling like flies now ...
Surman4no7shirt Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 I bet Brighton loose to Hudders on purpose now...
saint_jas Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Great win, hard listening to that on radio though

Jonnyboy Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 I bet Brighton loose to Hudders on purpose now... dont say that
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Hold on, our goal was the 82nd minute? How come the last 8 minutes and 5 mins Fergie time seemed to last 3 hours? Just one minute later than that of Bobby Stokes in 76 and even that seemed to go a tad quicker or maybe I was just younger then!
Ohio Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Adkins is being a bit over positive about the team though in his interview
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Barney off with what looks like a bad injury! Adkins
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 What is that Brighton do that enable them to break teams down much earlier in games than we do!
LVSaint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 We need to keep chipping away and 2nd is ours. Simple as that.
Johnny Shearer Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Saints never make it easy on us. The c***s!
Red Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Well we've made the play off's at least! Not that I am confident of us winning that - we have had two very nervy home and one really poor away game now - loss of form at the wrong time?? Need some serious confidence building during the week and no more injuries! COYR's
suewhistle Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Brighton are gonna slaughter us lol Never make assumptions where Saints are concerned!
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 how will those games effect his plans Because if neither team win it may allow him to go with a more conservative midfield / not risk anyone who is carrying an injury than if we needed the 3pts just to maintain our position. Especially as we have a game 48hrs later.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Well at least we are not like poopey who believe all referees are in a conspiracy against them! and so they should be fecking cheats!
mickyp Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Brighton have at least one the league but pressure really on Saints now, Why does it always happen to us injuries and form always hit us at the wrong time. I think the game in hand could be very important now!
SuperMikey Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 Well at least we are not like poopey who believe all referees are in a conspiracy against them! and so they should be fecking cheats! That was f*cking hilarious, he's worse than 'Arry with excuses! Oh, and i'll take a 10-0 thrashing from Brighton every day of the week if it means that we finish in 2nd.
alpine_saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 A win is a win, so we keep our slender advantages of a game in hand and GD, but we've really reached the end of the road in the injuries department. I doubt our ability to sustain our momentum over the last 5 games. Barnard has been critical several times this season.
Buenos Aires Saint Posted 16 April, 2011 Posted 16 April, 2011 I bet Brighton loose to Hudders on purpose now... Seeing as it's the last game at the Withdean, I doubt they will do....
