scotty Posted 15 April, 2011 Share Posted 15 April, 2011 Even if some Jews find the term "Yid" offensive, it doesn't make a group of people calling themselves Yids racist. Just like if I find the word "n*gger" offensive, it doesn't make rappers who use the term racists. If you call a someone "yid" or "n*gger" in a derogatory way then you are being racist. therein lies the nub of it. Its a fair point, a lot of my mates greet each other with something along the lines of "alright, you c*nt", if you used the same term to someone you didnt know well it would obviously be an insult. F*ck me, this is a can of worms
Jonnyboy Posted 15 April, 2011 Share Posted 15 April, 2011 Im a bit concerned that I may be an ist of some description as I support the saints can this be construed as something anti religious or discrimination against sinners and the devil worshippers and indeed other religions who do not recognise Saints Also I also thouhgt David Baddiel was a C*** David Baddiel is alright, He narrated the Le Tiss Unbelievable! video, so there. dubai_phil Posted 15 April, 2011 Share Posted 15 April, 2011 Strange one, my future son in law is from a Jewish family & is a Spurs fan. But the only time I ever notice that or think about it is when I give him grief about his team. In normal conversation we make banter, and yet the only time I have to stop and think is in relation to Spuds. To me he's just FS-i-L and someone to beat on the golf course. It's ONLY the link to Spurs that makes me think any differently and makes me stop and PC anything I may say. Which I think is like kinda all backwards. It's that tosspot effin football club that promotes the "think differently rather than accept" thought process. perhaps David Baddiel is right, we should just kick Spurs out the PL, problem solved. Oh and before anyone asks, no I am not an -ist. Unless we are talking about the fecking French, or more specifically Parisians.

He pauses when singing along, when I queried hummus told Me That it was okay formblack Peoplemto use the word but was a no no for him to repeat it. Turkish Posted 16 April, 2011 Share Posted 16 April, 2011 (edited) I guessed it wouldn't be long before mini-turkish rolled in. So the conclusion of this thread appears to be that turkish wants to reserve the right to be a petty racist scumbag without being called one. Here are some that were made earlier: "The Blackshirts, praised by The Daily Mail for their 'sound, commonsense, Conservative doctrine', would routinely march in the streets of London chanting: 'The Yids, the Yids, we've got to get rid of the Yids." Verbal = Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing. I'm still not sure how you are justifying your comments that my views on anti-racism are that thin. Can you enlighten me, as you've not done a good job so far, escpecially as far as the avatar goes, do you know who that is yet btw? He's a cock, the only one who wasn't funny at of the four blokes on the Mary Whitehouse Experience, not because he's a Jew by the way, but because he's not funny. Great game by the way. He was on the last five minutes of the Today programme, together with the spokesman (? I think) of the spurs fanclub. Baddiel just made himself sound like such a tosser, they even got into an argument about some meeting they had and the fanclub guy said "well you shouted Yid Army at us when you walked out". Tw*t. I have to say i find this whole "Yid" thing bizarre. How many people are aware of any sort of racial agenda towards Jews at football? They might argue they are raising awareness of it but when was the last time, if ever a Jewish player was subject to "show us your foreskin, traa laa laa laa laa" chants or pelted with skull caps from the terraces? I can honestly say i've never heard any anti sematic comments, let alone chants at football and this includes England and Leeds games as well as i've been to see them regularly in the past. A Yid chant at Tottenham fan is exactly the same using Skate, Scummer, Vermin etc. I just think they are creating a problem when there isn't really one. A Cynic would notice that a not very funny so called Comedian is managing to get himself a great deal of "Air Time" from "Fighting this cause". Equally a Cynic would imagine that a not very funny Comedian may need to gain publicity in order to keep a career dragging along. A Cynic would also have noticed that said Comedian isn't even supported in his cause by Spurs fans from that comment above and those of my Spurs Supporting Jewish Future son in Law who just wishes he'd shut up and feck off But of course a Cynic can't say that because said not very funny Comedian has stood up to fight the evil of "Racist/Culturalist/isms" and can't therefor be called an attention seeking whore, so I won't call him that then
