thats a hell of a lot cheaper than the others! the quality looks good in the pics as well, all nice & clear ( except for the poopey one!)

They seem to do a lot of footy clubs so looks promising

I ve emailed them for a quote on a 20mx15m, or larger depending on cost, so we`ll see.

i found 20ft x 10ft for the same, we have been looking at 20m x 10m!!

Have spoken to the same guys that did Sunderlands today and are preparing a quote, but they have warned that clubs are now reluctant to do this as currently a Villa "fan" is sueing Aston Villa, claiming suffocation, after a "surfer" flag went over her head!!!

still not heard back from the club, very annoyed with this

this might be a good alternative for the Walsall game if we can't organise a proper banner in time for whatever reason. with something like the size of the pic below, we could perhaps ask Mr Cortese if it could become a permanent fixture somewhere in the stadium?

Nice idea. I think we also need a song where his name can be more clearly heard. My suggestion?

To the tune of viva Ronaldo:

Markus Liebherr,

Markus Liebherr,

Our saviour and our King,

Hear the Southampton sing,

Markus Liebherr

HTH

Don't give up the day job.

I want to see a flag this big:

Edit - Just realised this has already been posted. Still impressive though.

I think we're being a bit over ambitious. As a gesture a smaller flag would be fine.

I'm just going to take a marker pen to some Royal Wedding bunting and wave that about.

From the guys that that do 20ftx10ft OMG

Your 20 x 15 metre banner in 150 gram per square metre Fire Retardant polyester will be £7500 plus £12 P&P

£7500 and they charge £12 for postage and packing !!

Managed to start, Glory Glory Markus Liebherr and the Saints go marching on, on, on, on the way back from Brighton Saturday, nice and easy to catch on too, can we get this one going for the remaining games?

ah good man. I can't make it today but would like to hear after the game that it was sung, and I'll try and get it going at Brentford too

So close today - lots singing in the Northam and Kingsland but I don't think it's got enough following for the Walsall game - shame !

Nearly there but fizzled out to quick after 2 verses.

Can't help singing Who the **** are Man United to that. Prefer Liebherr wonderland.

I assume that it is too late to produce and raise funds for a flag, therefore a vocal / physical tribute seems the best option.

Combining a few themes on here:

- On 62 Minutes

- A Standing Ovation

- Singing of "Glory Glory Markus Liebherr"

If we could agree this or something achievable we could get the club to consider it in the program and get the word to Echo, Solent and UI with a critical mass the rest of the stadium will follow - I am sure with a bit of prep even the Walsall fans might help out (or at least not try to drown it).

you do realise that unless you are a regular at SMS, or sat away from the northam..you would have no idea that it is the words "markus liebherr" being sung in those two songs..

the only way to get his name heard by all is to sing....

"one markus liebherr, onnnne markus liebherr

there's only one markus liebherr"

which is why I think a few dozen people on this forum who are sat in the chapel singing it would get that end of the stadium understanding the song (me included).
